  1. This  disk contains various example files to use with  dBase  III 
  2. and Lotus 1-2-3.  To use the dBase files,  copy the  .DBF,  .LBL, 
  3. .FRM, and .PRG files to the directory on your hard disk where you 
  4. keep your dBase files. Then type:
  5.  
  6.   DO EXAMP1 to run example 1.
  7.   DO EXAMP2 to run example 2.
  8.   DO EXAMP3 to run example 3.
  9.   DO EXAMP4 to run example 4.
  10.   DO EXAMP5 to run example 5.
  11.  
  12. To examine the label programs, run dBase and then type:
  13.  
  14.   MODI LABEL EXAMP1
  15.   MODI LABEL EXAMP2
  16.   MODI LABEL EXAMP5
  17.  
  18. To examine the form program, run dBase and then type:
  19.  
  20.   MODI FORM EXAMP3
  21.  
  22. Use  the Multi-Chapter copy option in Ventura Publisher  to  copy 
  23. the  CHP  and  associated  files from your  floppy  disk  to  the 
  24. directory on your hard disk where you keep your dBase  files.  No 
  25. width table is provided.  Therefore, during the copy process, you 
  26. may  receive  an  alert stating that the width  table  cannot  be 
  27. found.   SKIP   through  this  alert.   Ventura  Publisher   will 
  28. automatically use the OUTPUT.WID file in your VENTURA directory.

  30. Several  of  the  examples are provided  with  alternative  style 
  31. sheets.  These  style  sheets  have  names  like  EXAMP1A.STY  or 
  32. EXAMP5B.STY.  Copy these files from the distribution floppy  disk 
  33. to  the  directory specified for the style sheets in  the  Multi-
  34. Chapter copy operation.

  39. EXAMP1.STY    Three columns, each in separate paragraphs.
  40. EXAMP1A.STY    Same as before, but with space added between letters
  41. EXAMP1B.STY    Same as EXAMP1, but with leader characters.
  42. EXAMP1C.STY    Same as EXAMP1, but four columns, tiny fonts.
  43. EXAMP1D.STY    Same as EXAMP1, but text on different lines.
  44. EXAMP1E.STY    Same as EXAMP1, but each line numbered (press Ctrl B).
  45. EXAMP2.STY    Style sheet for pictures in Professional Ext table.
  46. EXAMP3.STY    Subtotal example.
  47. EXAMP4.STY    Professional Extension table.
  48. EXAMP4A.STY    Same as EXAMP4, but with video reverse in column 2.
  49. EXAMP5.STY    Catalog example.
  50. EXAMP5A.STY    Same as EXAMP5, but with reverse headline.
  51. EXAMP5B.STY    Catalog example with each entry in differen "column."
  52. EXAMP5C.STY    Same as EXAMP5B, but right page is reflection of left.

  56. To use the Lotus 1-2-3 program, copy the file 123TOVP.WK1 to your 
  57. computer  hard  disk and then follow the directions given in  the 
  58. application note and in the file itself.
