The article "Getting Started With Galahad 2.10" assumes that you have a
computer with the Clarkson Floppy Disk configuration: one 360K disk drive and
one 1.2M high density disk drive. This article describes how to set up Galahad
for a computer with two 360K floppy disk drives.

.u 1. .t3 Place your normal MS-DOS System Disk in drive A: and boot up your
computer. Format a disk with the operating system in drive B: using the
command: &dFORMAT%B:%/V/S&n.
.u 2. .t3 Place the Galahad Master Disk 1 in drive A: and using the MS-DOS copy
command, copy the following files to drive B:
AUTOEXEC.BAT
CONFIG.SYS
GAL2.EXE .t25 Galahad -- the Text Formatter
PER.COM .t25 Percival -- the Editor
GALAHAD.INI .t25 Printer Information
GREEKEGA.FNT .t25 (copy only if you have an EGA display card and want to
.t25 display PostScript Greek characters on the screen)
SPELLER.COM .t25 On-line Spelling Checker
ADD.COM .t25 Utility for SPELLER.COM
Call this the &dGalahad%Boot%Disk&n.
.u 3. .t3 Execute one of the next two commands:
If your keyboard is the newer 'Advanced AT Keyboard' (function keys on top
row):
A> &dCONFPER%B:PER%A:GAL101; .t45 (Note: the ';')
If your keyboard is the original style IBM keyboard (function keys on left
side):
A> &dCONFPER%B:PER%A:GAL83; .t45 (Note: the ';')
The Galahad Boot Disk is ready.

.u 4. .t3 Place your normal MS-DOS System Disk in drive A:. Format &itwo &inew
disks in drive B: using the command: &dFORMAT%B/V:&n.
(Note: the operating system should not be on these disks, to save space.)
.u 5. .t3 Copy to &iboth newly formatted disks the MS-DOS program COMMAND.COM
using the command: A> &dCOPY%COMMAND.COM%B:&n.
.u 6. .t3 Place the Galahad Master Disk 2 in drive A: and using the MS-DOS copy
command, copy the following files to one of these new disks in drive B:
LANCE.EXE
DIRECT.EXE
STOCK.EXE
Call this the &dGalahad%Analysis%Disk&n.
.u 7. .t3 Place the other newly formatted disk in drive B:, and from the
Galahad Master Disk 2 in drive A:, copy the LEX34.LEX file to drive B: using
the command: A> &dCOPY%LEX34.LEX%B:&n.
.u 8. .t3 Place the Galahad Master Disk 1 in drive A: and using the MS-DOS copy
command, copy the following files to the disk in drive B:
BEDE.EXE .t25 Bedevere -- Word Lookup
GUEN.EXE .t25 Guenevere -- Spelling Checker
GUENUTIL.EXE .t25 Utility Program for Guenevere
GALHELP.GHP .t25 Help Files

PS.DEF .t25 (copy the two =.DEF and six =.GMF files only if you have a
PSLAND.DEF .t26 PostScript printer)

them to this disk.

&dGalahad%Operation%With%Two%360K%Disk%Drives
To operate Galahad:

.u 1. .t3 Boot the computer with the Galahad Boot Disk. Then execute SPELLER
if you wish to have on-line spelling check.
.u 2. .t3 Remove the Galahad Boot Disk from drive A, and replace it with the
Galahad Run Time Disk.
.u 3. .t3 Use drive B: for your Galahad text files.
.u 4. .t3 With this disk arrangement you can get the Help Screens, Look up
words with Bedevere (Esc F1), and spell check the entire document with
Guenevere (GUEN.EXE).
.u 5. .t3 To do prose analysis, put the Galahad Analysis Disk in drive A:. Use
Esc F2 to mark a section of text to analyze, and Esc F3 to perform the
analysis.
