TRAVELLING IN THE
MIDDLE EAST
The middle-east for
travel purposes
consists of the
following countries:
ISRAEL
JORDAN
SYRIA
SAUDI ARABIA
IRAQ
IRAN
LEBANON
OMAN
SOUTH YEMEN
YEMEN
QATAR
U.A.F
KUWAIT
Of these,Syria
Lebanon,Iraq,
Kuwait and
Iran are
trouble spots
that preclude
anything but
diplomatic travel
in real terms.
Whilst Saudi,
the Yemens,UAF
Qatar are mostly
transit points for
air travellers en
route to the Far
East and Australia.
There is also quite
a bit of business
traffic to the Arab
world.
From a tourist point
of view, Jordan has
a limited appeal but
much potential whilst
Israel, despite
political problems
has a well-developed
tourist industry.
