This program allows you to create "FORMS" for display on your monitor or for rendering by the POV raytracer. A form is a three dimensional object built up from a simple set of primitives (sphere, box, torus, ellipse) and some simple operations that are performed on them (stack, bend, twist, grow etc.).
Although this sounds none too inspiring the FORMs you can create with simple input files can be quite good, or why else would I have written this program?
This program is NOT a CAD package, none of the forms produced are intended to represent anything real in any way, they are just supposed to look good.
For those of you who have seen or read TODD and LATHAM's book "Evolution and Art in Computing" this program is supposed to perform roughly the same function as that set out in that book.
REGISTRATION.
This program is FREE, you don't have to register. I would like some feedback though, you could consider this some sort of registration if you like.
LEGAL STUFF
see end of form.doc for copyright and restrictions on distribution.
REQUIREMENTS
Due to the video routines I have used this program requires:-
An IBM PC compatible with a 386 or better processor
A VGA or super VGA display (preferably with a VESA driver).
A text editor, such as DOS's EDIT.
Some extended memory is useful (though not essential), extended memory usage varies from around zero to 2.4Meg dependant on screen resolution.
A big sorry to those of you who haven't got a machine that matches or exceeds the above specs, but I think this is getting to be a standard sort of machine now.
CONVERSIONS
If you don't have an IBM PC compatible but would still like to run this program on your machine please let me know, I may do a conversion for you, or release the source code.
FEEDBACK
Give ME some FEEDBACK, I've never released a program into the public domain before and I want to know what you think of it. Even if you think it's rubbish let me know, I may be able to change it.
E-MAIL:rummy@snaffle.demon.co.uk. I will try and reply to all e-mail messages I get, and put you on a notification list (if you want). For those of you who cannot send e-mail, sorry.
I would like you to send me any good Forms you have, no binaries without prior arrangement as I'm only on a lowly 2400 baud link at the moment.
