Note A:
This procedure is only valid if the CDD2000 is provided with
a flash eprom.!!!!
All CDD2000 units produced in 1995 are equipped with a flash eprom.
Connect the CDD2000 via a SCSI host adapter to the computer
Verify access to the CDD2000 and note the SCSI ID / targetnumber.
Make sure that there is no disc in the tray of the CDD2000 drive,
and reset the CDD2000.
Run the flash eprom upgrade program by entering:
drive name:\subdir\newflash.exe targetnumber filename.
Assuming that the files NEWFLASH.EXE and FLASH125.CVT are
in the CDDREC subdirectory of your C-drive, change to
the CDDREC subdirectory ( CD\CDDREC ) and then type:
NEWFLASH 2 FLASH125.CVT <Enter>
In case of problems the program returns with an error message or a request.
Data transfer is indicated by busy indication on the monitor
" WRITING...."
When the upgrade procedure is completed the following message appears:
" Buffer was written OK...."
!!!! DO NOT OPERATE THE CDD2000 UNTIL THE GREEN LED STOPPED FLASHING !!!!
The flash/upgrade procedure will be continued by CDD2000 automatically.
This is indicated by the orange writing desk.
After approx. 60 sec. the orange / writing and the red / error LED will flash
for aprox 1 sec., followed by flashing of the green / reading LED.
Now the procedure is completed and the set can be operated via the normal
application.
Note B:
In case the upgrade procedure failed the flash eprom must
be replaced by an external programmed version.
