The EXTANSI emulation is an extended ANSI emulation. It is
intended for use when calling a MIRROR system. It extends the standard
ANSI emulation in the following ways:
1) Keys which are not part of the ascii set (such as function
keys, arrows, or alt-keys) are transmitted as a 3 character
sequence. This sequence is interpreted by the HOST
emulation on the answering side.
2) If the answer-mode MIRROR has issued an ANSI EXTANSI command
then it will compress repeated characters as it transmits
them to the caller. The EXTANSI emulation on the calling
system uncompresses these sequences resulting in substantially
increased throughput.
For more information issue the command HELP ANSI inside MIRROR.
