  1. This demonstration version of Quill has been specially set up 
  2. to facilitate drawing with the mouse; with "Zoom" and "Smooth" 
  3. already activated when the program is run.

  5. Click on the nib icon to start drawing.
  6. Finish drawing with a right button click, or by pressing the 
  7. space bar.
  8.  
  9. With Quill's absolute drawing mode you'll find that the drawing 
  10. mouse speed increases with zoom magnification.
  11. Clicking on the word "Smooth" lets you adjust the smoothing
  12. level to suit your graphics.

  17. No saving of Quill vector (QV) files or bit-image export.

  26. Quill is a pen-and-ink freehand vector drawing package that 
  27. combines the speed and responsiveness of a painting package with 
  28. the smooth rescalable output of vector graphics.

  30. It is the first program to properly emulate naturalistic drawing 
  31. and writing with a shaped nib or italic pen.

  33. Quill records every flick of your pen - or mouse - and renders each 
  34. stroke in flawless curves - drawn in the nib of your choice.

  36. The nib can be edited (choose square or rounded, then squash, 
  37. rotate, stripe and resize) both before and after drawing - so you 
  38. can mould its shape and weight to best express a particular sketch 
  39. or lettering.

  41. Individual pen strokes can be moved or deleted - with the flexible 
  42. zoom option allowing precise adjustments.

  44. A reversible UNDO effects all graphic operations.

  46. Quill saves in its own vector format, and exports bit image files
