I. Before You Start
-------------------
A. RAM: device - The Amiga's ram disk device RAM: must be mounted.
If you do not have it mounted, use your favorite text editor to
load the Startup-Sequence file from your Workbench bootup disk's
S: directory. Near the top of this file add the following line:
dir > nil: ram:
B. System Files - There are Amiga system files that must be on your
Workbench bootup disk. If you did not alter that disk, you can
ignore this section. In the event that you deleted system files
to make room for other programs, LIST the following directories
to make sure the required files are still on your bootup disk:
c: list - Must be available
assign echo loadwb \
cd endcli makedir \ Only needed to
copy execute run / make a Boot Disk; and for

NOTE: If IconX is not available, you will need to use the
"run" command from the CLI to execute the
Make_BScBootDisk script. Just type:
run Make_BScBootDisk

E. Printing This Document
To print this BibleScrambleDemo document, align the printer's
paper to the "top of page." Then to print from your favorite
word processor or text editor, first be sure that there are no
uppper or lower margins set since the BibleScrambleDemo document
has its pages already laid out. Next, begin printing.
To print from the CLI, one could use the following command:
type >prt: drive:BibleScrambleDemo.DOC
II. Startup
-----------
A. Floppy User's - If you have only one floppy disk drive, and no
hard drive, you will have to place the SCRAMBLE directory on a
Workbench boot disk in order to access the system files, without
having to remove your disk containing the BibleScramble files.
If your current Workbench disk does not have a minimum of 300kb
free, you will need to delete files from it to make room for the
SCRAMBLE directory; or, since it is unlikely that you will want
to pare down your Workbench disk by this amount, you can make a
dedicated BibleScrambleDemo boot disk. To make a dedicated boot
disk, follow the next three procedures:
1. Initialize a blank floppy disk, and copy your unarchived
BibleScramble DEMO files to this disk; this will become
your DEMO boot disk. Name it DEMO.
2. Insert this disk, which has the unarchived BibleScramble
DEMO files, into drive DF0. Then, double click its
disk icon. Next, double click the "Make_BScBootDisk"
icon. Now you will be prompted to make several exchanges
of your Workbench disk with your DEMO disk.
3. Reboot your machine with the DEMO disk in drive DF0.
page 4
To run BibleScrambleDemo from a floppy:
From Workbench - Simply doubleclick the disk icon, then
doubleclick the SCRAMBLE directory icon, then doubleclick the
BibleScrambleDemo program icon.
From the CLI: You will have to change the active directory
before running the program; for instance,
CD DF1:SCRAMBLE - the SCRAMBLE dir. must be the current dir.
RUN BibleScrambleDemo
B. Hard Drive User's - If you want to install BibleScrambleDemo on
your hard disk, here is one method of doing so.
1. Start your computer with a standard Workbench that has been
configured to support a hard disk.
2. Create a Directory, also called a Drawer, named SCRAMBLE
on your hard disk, which will include all BibleScrambleDemo
program files.
To do this, open a hard disk window where you want
BibleScrambleDemo. Next, insert the DEMO disk into a floppy
drive. Double-click its disk icon. A window will open
displaying the SCRAMBLE drawer icon. Drag this SCRAMBLE
drawer icon into your hard disk window. Your disk drives
become active as the drawer and its contents are copied to
a new SCRAMBLE drawer on your hard disk.
NOTE: If you want the .DOC file or Order Form file (.$$$)
also on your hard disk, you will have to copy these
by dragging their icons or using the CLI or a Directory
utility.
To run from Workbench: Simply doubleclick the SCRAMBLE directory
icon, then doubleclick the BibleScrambleDemo program icon.
From the CLI: You will have to change the active directory
before running the program; for instance,
CD DH0:SCRAMBLE
RUN BibleScrambleDemo

III. BibleScramble Notes
------------------------
A. ABOUT THE GAME -
BibleScramble is a word game. Unlike other word games that work
with random words, BibleScramble uses specific categories of words.
The object of BibleScramble is to unscramble seven letters each turn
to make a word from the Bible. A player's word must be within a
category (Level); for instance, Level 1: Everyday words; Level 4:
Five-letter to seven-letter words with clear spiritual meaning;
Level 7: Well known places in the Bible.
Words are placed on the Game Board and must intersect. A player's
score increases as the number of letters in a word increases, and
the intersections, color (bonus) tiles, and levels increase. Each
new game presents a new arrangement of bonus tiles.
B. GAMEPLAY -
If you are stumped by a difficult word or a difficult category
of words, use your Bible to jog your memory or to give you new
understanding, afterall ... The Bible is an Open Book!
The SORT DONE and WORD DONE buttons: After sorting your letters
on the Sort Tray, the SORT DONE button must be clicked before your
sorted letters can be moved to the Game Board. Once your word's
letters have been placed onto the Game Board, you must notify
BibleScramble that your word is done and in place by clicking the
WORD DONE button. Then your word will be evaluated and your score
calculated.
Restrictions, besides those mentioned in 'About the Game' above,
include placing letters on the Game Board so that a word reads
from top-to-bottom and left-to-right.

Editing: The string requesters that ask for a filename or a player
name can be edited with the following keys: left/right arrow keys
to move the cursor one character; backspace, and Del keys to delete
single characters; the Esc key will erase the entire string.
Hints: To assure that you get credit for a good word sort, even if
you were not able to place the word onto the Game Board, always
complete sorting the word at the far left of the Sort Tray.
Do not hesitate to play against HAL. He will be able to unscramble
all words, and will find the correct placement for a word, if it
exists; but, he is color-blind and will not always consider
choosing his word placement based on colored bonus tiles. He is
further handicapped by never going first, and he never receives
a score for simply a good word sort.

C. THE GAME MENU -
Save/Save As: When a game is saved, the extension .BSc is added
to the saved game file. BibleScramble sets a limit of 25 of these
files that will be displayed in the 'Open Game File' requester.
As a result, if there are more than 25 .BSc files in the Scramble
directory, you might as well discard those in excess of 25 that are
least important. You will receive a requester that informs you to
delete files once you have reached 25 saved games. After you delete
the excess game files, using the CLI/SHELL or a directory utility,
since the program does not know about your deletions, quit then
restart the program.
Finally, completed games as well as unfinished games can be saved.
This allows you to show off your best completed game.
D. THE INFO MENU -
Levels: The 10th level includes Biblical Hebrew, Aramaic, and
Greek words. In Hebrew there is no distinction of capitals,
italics, etc.; however, for continuity in BibleScramble all letters
are capitalized. Also in level 10, will be found Hebrew and Greek
words which may not be in our English translations, but are the
equivalents of the English.
Those versed in Hebrew and/or Greek who can give critical but
scholarly input regarding level 10, will be acknowledged and
their input greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that BibleScramble is
intended to be educational and entertaining in its vocabulary style
of presenting the Word of God. In this endeavor, we seek an
accurate equivalent in English letters for the languages
transliterated, knowing that the font used prevents the use of
diacritical marks.
TopScores: The ten highest scores are saved. If a tie should
occur, player A and player B's name and score will be recorded
if the tie score is greater than the two lowest scores. However,
if only the lowest score is exceeded then only player B will be
recorded since player A had the advantage of going first.
IV. About B.E.E. Ready! Software
--------------------------------
B.E.E. Ready! Software is a small business which develops Bible
Education Entertainment for the family and individuals with an
interest in God's Word, the Bible. We saw a genre of software
growing, which did little more than improve ones reflexes or occupy
ones time with mindless, vicarious killing or take the unsuspecting
player into a potentially dangerous world of fantasy and occultism.
Therefore, we were moved to develop software that educates and
entertains, yet provides truth as well as lasting moral values.
The Holy Bible is of course our source of inspiration.
