Galactic Civilizations 1.0 Kernal development history. History begins
after 1st beta of GalCiv. The beta 1 was Alpha number 0.65
The second beta was 0.85.

Rlease 0.95d:
Features:
o Meanwhile... added (buggy)

Release 0.95a:
Features:
o Stacking Implemented:
You can put several ships on the same spot and when you send
them into autopilot they will all go.
o Modifications to GC/AI
o Aliens and Newsgirl have backgrounds
o More digitized sounds
o Some of the new starships put in
o New opening bitmap
Fixes:
* Transport picture was not implemented right
* Numerous sizing and graphic glitches fixed
* Calcs.dll changed to make people happier on the onset
and penalize users for being imperial in the local government
area.
* Fix put in to ensure that two Planet Dialogs are not up at
once.
* Aliens who are your allies will now ask for help when attacked
* Star Map message queue not turned off during a NEW turn. This
will hurt performance but enhance stability. A setting was
added (not implemented) where you can choose between having
the Star Map's queue turned off (greater speed, decreased stability)
or have the queue's priority lowered (performance hit but it
shouldn't hang).
* The usage of a planet is now displayed in the details dialog.
* GC/AI fixed in terms of an alien knowing its real position when
you ask for peace (no more, 'We're beating you' when they're
obviously being creamed).

Release 0.95
New Features/Modifications:
o Modified Local Governments spending amounts.
The amount of the unused Star resources that you use
is determined by your spend rate now. The Government
(Central Government) still collects taxes on Local Resources
(though Entertainment expenses are completely deducted).
Local Governments get more from unused resources as the
Spend Rate goes up UNTIL you reach your tax rate at which
point it is equal.
o Clicking on an unhappy planet in the "Civil Unrest" will
bring up that planet
o Calcs.dll modified to make people less happy as easily and
to weaken how powerful Democracies and Federations are.
o Elections are now tougher to get your way.
o ULTIMOTION(tm) files now can play in Dialog boxes.
o Populations are allowed to get even larger, especially under
Democracies and Federations.
o Revolts are now much MUCH less common.
Bug Fixes:
o Leases all show up if available (this was in release 0.94a
actually)

o Casaulties are counted.
o Modeless dialog boxes on the icon bar. Warning, this means
you can have 1000 tax manager dialogs up if you want.
Known Bugs:
- REALLY REALLY annoying problem of OS/2 not picking up the
WM_BUTTON1DBLKCLK message (translations: you double click on
your ship to put in auto pilot and the game doesn't register it
always).
- Some planets pick up the commands for others when more than one
planet dialog shows up at once.

o Stars are now distributed in clusters instead of evenly.
Gives an islands in space affect.
o Deep space created. Travel through deep space slows your speed.
o There are now invasions. You can load troops onto transports
and invade planets.
o RIGHT mouse button now brings up star info.
o RIGHT mouse button brings up how good a given planet is.
Fixes:
o Beep at beginning of games.
o Selected ship now blinks
o The blinking ship is really the one selected
o Performance improvements
o Starting to make more screens fill up the entire display.
o The graphs now create a range out of ONLY the players whose
info you can see instead of being able to tell how tough you are
by your line's position in the window.
