  44. This posting is the introduction to the "official" anti-viral archives
  45. of VIRUS-L/comp.virus.  With the generous cooperation of many sites
  46. throughout the world, we are attempting to make available to all
  47. the most recent news and programs for dealing with the virus problem.
  48. Currently we have sites for Amiga, Apple II, Atari ST, IBMPC, Macintosh
  49. and Unix computers, as well as sites carrying research papers and
  50. reports of general interest.

  53.   I am still working out the kinks in the file archiver and compression
  54.   format listing.  For sure by April...
  55.  
  56. If you have general questions regarding the archives, you can send
  57. them to this list or to me.  I'll do my best to help.  If you have a
  58. submission for the archives, you can send it to me or to one of the
  59. persons in charge of the relevant sites.

  64. on an as-is basis.

  90. To get files from the anti-viral archives, you do not need access
  91. to anonymous ftp.  (However, anonymous ftp is the preferred method.)
  92. Below is information on accessing the archive sites using only email.

  96. One way to get access to the archives is through the BITFTP server
  97. at Princeton.  Send a message to bitftp@pucc.princeton.edu (BITNET
  98. address is BITFTP@PUCC) with the body of the message containing the
  99. single word HELP.  This should get you more information, and give
  100. you access to any archive site on the internet.  This service seems
  101. to be greatly overloaded, so expect response times to be a little
  102. slow.
