ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Overview ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Exec-U-Shell editor allows you to create electronic presentations by
combining text with graphic backgrounds. Start the Exec-U-Shell editor by
selecting Create Presentation from the main menu.
Initially the editor will consist of a background graphic with a menu bar at
the top of the window. At this point, you may start creating a new presentation
by Adding Text to this initial screen. Or, you may use the File menu option to
Open an existing presentation.
Select Help Index from the Help pull-down menu for information on adding text,
changing the backgrounds, adding additional screens and more.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Adding Text ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To add text to the screen, first position the mouse pointer where you want the
text to be placed and then click the left mouse button. This will cause a box
to appear that is the height of the current text font and one space wide. The
blinking cursor indicates that you are in the text entry mode.
Use the keyboard to begin typing letters. The normal editing keys such as
backspace, delete, insert, home, end, and the left and right arrow keys are
available to help you enter your text. When you have completed typing a line of
text, click the left mouse button outside the text box, or press the return
key.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Editing Text ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To edit an existing line of text, place the mouse pointer over the line and
press the left mouse button. A box will appear around the selected line. Then
press the left mouse button again with the pointer over the part of the line
where you wish to begin editing the line. You will now get a flashing text
entry pointer. Use the normal editing keys such as backspace, delete, insert,
home, end, and the left and right arrow keys to change the text.
Select Changing the text font , Changing the text color , and Moving text
from the Help Index for information on these topics.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Deleting Text ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To delete a line of text, highlight the line by placing the mouse pointer over
the text and pressing the left mouse button once. There will be no flashing
text entry pointer at this point. Press the Delete key on the keyboard to
delete the line.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Navigation ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
A presentation usually consists of multiple screens. To determine how many
screens a presentation has, choose the Screen Goto... menu item. This will
bring up a dialog box that contains a listbox. The listbox itself contains an
entry for every screen. The current screen will be highlighted.
To jump directly to any screen, select a screen from the Goto listbox.
To move to the next screen, select the Screen Next menu item or press the PgDn
key.
To move to the previous screen, select the Screen Previous menu item or press
the PgUp key.
See Screen Insert..., Screen Delete..., and Screen Move... for information on
these topics.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Moving Text ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

pointer over the line and pressing either mouse button. A box will appear
around the selected line. Position the pointer in the box and click the right
mouse button. The pointer will change to a four-way arrow. At this point you
are able to move the text line by dragging it to a new location. Release the
right mouse button to fix the line of text in its new position. When you are
