  10. The Management Services Interface Working Group met to discuss the
  11. latest revision of the draft API document.  The following actions were
  12. taken.

  15.   o The section on authentication information (Section B.4) was
  16.     modified to indicate that the authentication information should be
  17.     passed as an AVL instead of the previously indicated C structure.
  18.   o The rough outline of an interoperability statement.  This statement
  19.     will document the requirement that implementations of MSI behave
  20.     the same regardless of the underlying protocol.
  21.   o The Interoperability statement effort produced an issue that must
  22.     be addressed in order for an implementation of the MSI API to
  23.     function.  In order for an implementation of MSI to behave the same
  24.     regardless of the protocol, the MIB for new classes must be defined
  25.     in both SNMP terms and OIM terms.  This requires that objects and
  26.     events be documented in the current template format as well as the
  27.     ISO GDMO format.  Without this information, it is impossible for an
  28.     MSI implementation to `translate' a management request into both an
  29.     SNMP PDU and a CMOT PDU. There was no resolution of this issue, but
  30.     it was agreed that it should also be raised in the OIM Working
  31.     Group meeting the next day and raised to the Network Management
  32.     Area Chair.

  35. Comments on the API draft from the UBC meeting will be incorporated in
  36. the next revision of the draft.
