  1. Appendix A - How to register
  2. ============================

  4. HardBack is Shareware, which means that if you like it, use it 
  5. regularly or want the extra features of the registered version, you 
  6. send a sum of ú10 to the author.  In return you will receive:
  7.  
  8. Å    A printed manual
  9. Å    Access to technical support
  10. Å    A version of HardBack with new features
  11. Å    The ability to obtain new versions by sending and blank disc 
  12.     and 50p to the author
  13.  
  14. The registered version of HardBack will have many more new 
  15. features than this demo.  At the present time (Release 1.01) the new 
  16. features possessed by release 2.00 include:
  17.  
  18. Å    Compression available for all backups, with various options 
  19.     to control it.  Typically, the backup is about 50-60% of the 
  20.     size of the original files, on a typical mix of program, data 
  21.     and graphic files, which means you need less discs than you 
  22.     would using the demo version.
  23. Å    Ability to read ClicBack options files.
  24. Å    Removal of the banners urging you to register.
  25. Å    Speeded up restore selected items, which uses less memory.
  26. Å    Filer-style sort by name, type, and size for restore selected 
  27.     items.
  28. Å    Count, file info, pause, donæt show status window options for 
  29.     Restore.
  30. Å    Option not to rename discs used for the backup ù this means 
  31.     you can use HardBack to backup to a second hard drive, 
  32.     Syquest or optical disc.
  33. Å    Option to store a Cyclic Redundancy Check with the data ù 
  34.     this basically means that when the data is restored, Restore 
  35.     will check it against this, and you will be warned if it is 
  36.     corrupted.

  38. More features will be added over time.  There will be no more 
  39. versions of the demo, except possibly to fix any bugs which may 
  40. arise, as I shall now spend my time on improving the registered 
  41. version.
