Fnordadel Held Message Tutorial
The [H]eld option in the message editor is a convenient feature. It puts
your message in a temporary buffer and returns you to the "ROOM>" prompt, or to
the "more" prompt if you were reading messages using .R(ead) M(ore). You may
then continue to use the BBS as you normally would. Usually at this point
you'd either review earlier messages so that the message you've [H]eld could
be made more incisive, read later messages so that you can add more replies to
your message, or change rooms if you feel the message belongs elsewhere.
Once you're ready to continue editing the message in the held buffer, use
the ".E(nter) H(eld-message)" command at the room prompt, or the [H]eld command
at the "more" command prompt. You will be returned to the message editor, to
proceed with the held message. You can hold and continue a message like this
any number of times.
The temporary buffer used to hold your message is a disk file. If the Sysop
is a nice person and has lots of free disk space, he or she will hopefully set
things up so that if you somehow get cut off the system prematurely, your
message will still be in your held buffer when you call back.
Only one message can be held at a time.
