INSTALLATION GUIDE
Artisoft LANtastic Ver. 7.0 Driver
for EtheRx LC Ethernet Adapter

Introduction:
This installation guide provides the following information:
- Installing the Artisoft LANtastic 7.0 driver.
The configuration of Kingston EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet adapter is shown
in the Custom install window of Qstart. You can manually change the
current configuration by selecting the Manual Configuration option. The
default hardware settings for the EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet adapter are:
IRQ (INT) = 3
I/O address (PORT) = 300
Note: You may need this information in order to install the driver.
Note:
For Windows 95 users: please refer to Windows 95 Driver
installation option in QSTART to load the adapter driver
first. Only load Lantastic 7.0 after Windows 95 has
recognized your adapter. To install Lantastic 7.0, run
a:setup from Windows 95's Start button.
Driver Installation Procedure:
1. Make sure the EtheRx LC adapter is properly installed in
your computer.
2. Place the LANtastic Disk 1 diskette in the A: or B: floppy
drive.
3. Run the LANtastic INSTALL program (for DOS/Windows 3.1x).
A:SETUP <Enter> or B:SETUP <Enter>
4. Proceed with the installation procedure, follow all the
prompts for each screen. Choose 'OK' or press <Enter> to
move from screen to screen.
5. In the Network Adapter Setup window, check 'NEX016
NOVELL NE2000 16-bit ISA BUS or COMPATIBLES'.
6. Make sure you carefully follow the prompts for each screen.
7. When the installation is complete, SETUP will automatically
reboot your computer.
8. The installation procedure is now complete.
If more than one EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet adapters are found in your PC,
you need to make sure two adapters use different IRQ and IOBASE
settings. After changing the adapter settings within QStart,
you need to change those parameters in file STARTNET.BAT
(located in the default directory: \LANTASTI) to match the adapter
settings.

By changing the values of IRQ and IOBASE settings specified by Qstart,
reboot the machine for the new settings to be updated.
