INSTALLATION GUIDE
IBM OS/2 LAN Server Ver.3.0 DOS LAN Requester NDIS 2 Driver
for EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet Adapter

This installation guide provides the following instructions:
- Using QStart to transfer IBM DOS LAN Requester files from
the Kingston Driver Diskette to the destination directory.
- Installing the IBM DOS LAN Requester software.
Copying the Driver files:
When you use the Generic or Custom install options in QStart, the
files associated with the network operating system environment you
choose will be displayed on the screen and copied to the default
destination directory (C:\NDIS2); unless you specify otherwise.
The configuration of Kingston EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet adapter is shown
in the Custom install window of Qstart. You can manually change the
current configuration by selecting the Manual Configuration option. The
default hardware settings for the EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet adapter are:
IRQ (INT) = 3
I/O address (PORT) = 300
Note: You may need this information in order to install the driver.
After the files are copied to the destination directory, you will
need to perform the procedure outlined in the next section to install
the driver.
Driver Installation Procedure:
1. Make sure the EtheRx LC ISA adapter is properly installed in
your computer.
2. Make sure you have use QStart to transfer NDIS driver from
Kingston Driver Diskette to your hard drive.
3. Do a diskcopy for 'LAN Support Program Install' diskette.
4. Put the backup disk in floppy drive and type 'del a:\dos\*.*'
and press <Enter>.
5. Copy the NDIS driver provided by Kingston to this backup disk.
At C: prompt, type 'copy C:\NDIS2\*.* A:\DOS' and press
<Enter>. If you changed the default directory name when you
ran QStart, substitute C:\NDIS2 with the new directory name.
6. Type 'A:\DXMAID' and press <Enter>.
7. When IBM logo shows up, press <Enter> three times to go to
"Environment Information" screen.
8. Scroll down to the third option 'Do you have adapter option
diskettes?', hit space bar to toggle the option to 'Yes' then
press <Enter> to continue.
9. When "Process Adapter Option Diskette" comes up, change the
drive if needed then press <Enter>.
10. When the "Information" screen pops up press <Enter> twice.
11. When the program prompts for the LAN Support Program (Install)
backup diskette, press <Enter>.
12. "Current Configuration" window comes up with 'Kingston EtheRx
LC ISA Ethernet Adapter' selected.
13. Press <F4> again at the main screen to continue.
14. Reboot your computer.
15. Insert 'DOS LAN Requester Diskette 1' in floppy drive. Type
'A:\INSTALL' and press <Enter>.
16. When the IBM logo comes up press <Enter> three times.
17. When the "DOS LAN Requester - Installation Utility" screen comes
up, use the default path or change it if needed then press
<Enter>.
18. Select 'A DOS LAN Requester workstation' option, then press
<Enter>.
19. Type in a unique Machine's ID and your Domain ID then press
<Enter>.
20. Follow the instructions on the screen for swapping diskettes.
21. Select 'Y' to modify your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files.
22. Reset your computer and the installation is now complete.
