INSTALLATION GUIDE
IBM OS/2 LAN Server Ver.3.0 OS/2 LAN Requester NDIS 2 Driver
for EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet Adapter

This installation guide provides the following instructions:
- Using QStart to transfer IBM OS/2 LAN Requester files from
the Kingston Driver Diskette to the destination directory.
- Installing the IBM OS/2 LAN Requester software.
Copying the Driver files:
When you use the Generic or Custom install options in QStart, the
files associated with the network operating system environment you
choose will be displayed on the screen and copied to the default
destination directory (A:\NDIS2); unless you specify otherwise.
The configuration of the Kingston EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet adapter is
shown in the Custom install window of Qstart. You can manually change
the current configuration using the Manual Configuration option. The
default hardware configuration settings for the EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet
adapter are:
IRQ (INT) = 3
I/O address (PORT) = 300
Note: You will need this information to install the driver.
After the files are copied to the destination directory, you will
need to perform the procedure outlined in the next section to install
the driver.
Driver Installation Procedure:
This installation procedure assumes that IBM OS/2 is up and running.
1. Make sure the EtheRx LC ISA adapter is properly installed in
your computer.
2. Open the 'OS/2 System' icon on the OS/2 desktop.
3. Click the 'Command Prompts' icon.
4. Click on the 'OS/2 Window' icon or the 'OS/2 Full Screen' icon.
5. Insert the 'IBM Network Transport Service LAN Adapter and
Protocol' diskette into your floppy drive. Type 'A:\LAPS' or
'B:\LAPS'.
6. Click 'Install' when the IBM logo appears.
7. Type in the target drive in the "Target Drive" window and
click 'OK'.
8. When the "Installation Complete" window appears, click 'OK'.
9. Click 'Install' again when IBM logo appears.
10. Insert the Kingston Driver Diskette into the floppy drive.
11. Enter the default destination directory, A:\NDIS2; if you
changed the default directory name when you ran QStart,
enter the new directory name and click OK.
12. Click 'OK' when the "Installation Complete" screen appears.
13. Select 'Configure' when the IBM logo appears.
14. In the "Configuration" window, select 'Configure LAN
transports' and click 'Continue'.
15. In the "Configure Workstation" window, select 'Kingston EtheRx
LC ISA Ethernet Adapter' from the Network Adapters list and
click 'Add' to put the Kingston EtheRx LC ISA adapter into the
Current Configuration list.
16. Highlight "Kingston EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet Adapter" in the
Configuration list and click 'Edit'. Change the Interrupt
level and I/O Base address if necessary and click 'OK'. The
default settings for the Kingston Ethernet adapter are:
I/O base address = 300
IRQ = 3
17. Select a protocol from the Protocols list and select 'Add'.
18. Select 'OK' in the "Configure Workstation" screen.
19. Select 'Exit'.
20. Select 'Continue' in the "Update CONFIG.SYS" window.
21. Select 'OK' in the "CONFIG.SYS Update" window.
22. Select 'Exit' in the "Exiting LAPS" window.
23. Shut down OS/2 and reboot your workstation.
24. Click on the 'OS/2 Window' icon or the 'OS/2 Full Screen' icon.
25. Put in 'OS/2 Requester Install Diskette 1' in floppy drive.
26. At system prompt, type 'A:\LANINST' and press 'Enter'. Follow
the instruction on the screen.
27. The installation procedure is now complete.
