  50.   This is the setup program for the Print Server's Windows based
  51.   configuration utility - WPCONFIG.
  52.  
  53. PSCONFIG.EXE
  54.  
  55.   This is the setup program for the Print Server's DOS based
  56.   configuration utility - PSCONFIG.  PSCONFIG is a menu-driven
  57.   utility that provides equivalent functions as those found in
  58.   WPCONFIG.  To use this program, simply copy it from the diskette
  59.   to any hard drive and run it under the DOS prompt.

  67. WHAT IS WPCONFIG?
  68. =================
  69.  
  70. WPCONFIG is a Windows based utility program designed for the network
  71. administrator to remotely configure and manage the Print Server print
  72. server products.  WPCONFIG can be used on Microsoft's Windows 3.1, Windows
  73. for Workgroups, Windows 95, and Windows NT platforms.  WPCONFIG uses IPX/SPX
  74. protocol to communicate with the active Print Server devices.

  78. BEFORE INSTALLING WPCONFIG
  79. ==========================

  81. Before you install WPCONFIG program on your workstation, you must make
  82. sure that the following software has been loaded:
  83.  
  84. On Windows NT Workstations
  85.  
  86. Click on control panel and then click on network icon to bring up your
  87. network setup menu.  Check to see if the following software has been
  88. installed on your workstation:
  89.  
  90. 1) NetWare Gateway Service (for NT version 3.5.1)
  91.    Client Service for NetWare (for NT version 3.5)
  92. 2) NWLINK IPX/SPX Compatible Transport
  93.  
  94. If not, then you need to select "Add software" function to install these
  95. two software.  After you install the software, you need to restart the
  96. workstation.  If you are prompted with "Select Preferred server for NetWare"
  97. message, simply click "Cancel" if you do not have a Novell server on your
  98. network.  You do not need to log in to a Novell file server to use the
  99. WPCONFIG program.

  101. On Windows 95 Workstations
  102.  
  103. Click on control panel and then click on network icon to bring up your
  104. network setup menu.  Make sure that the "Client for NetWare Network" &
  105. "IPX/SPX Compatible Transport" are both installed.  If not, then you need to
  106. click on Add button to install these software.  You do not need to setup a
  107. Novell's preferred server or log in to an existing Novell file server to use
  108. the WPCONFIG program.

  110. On Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11 Workstations
  111.  
  112. Make sure that the Novell workstation drivers are properly loaded on your
  113. workstation.  You do not have to log in to a Novell file server to use
  114. WPCONFIG program.

  118. INSTALLING WPCONFIG
  119. ===================

  121. To install WPCONFIG on your Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroups, or
  122. Windows NT workstation:
  123.  
  124. 1. Insert Print Server Configuration utilities diskette into the drive.
  125. 2. Make sure Windows is already running.  If not, type WIN at the DOS
  126.    prompt.
  127. 3. Choose Run from the File menu in the Program Manager.  The Run dialog
  128.    box appears.
  129. 4. Type a:\setup or b:\setup depending on which floppy drive you used.
  130.    Click OK to start the setup.
  131. 5. Follow the instructions on your screen.

  133. To install WPCONFIG on your Windows 95 workstation:
  134.  
  135. 1. Insert Print Server Configuration diskette into the drive.
  136. 2. Click Start, point to Run, then click.
  137. 3. Type the drive letter containing the diskette, followed by :\setup.
  138.    For example A:\setup.  Click OK to start the installation.
  139. 4. Follow the instructions on your screen.
