  3. The high resolution Microsoft Word 5.0 display driver supplied with your 
  4. Actix ProSTAR VL supports both high resolution text and graphics. When using 
  5. a Microsoft Mouse with the driver, please ensure that your mouse driver 
  6. version level is 7.0 or above.

  8.  Installing Word display drivers
  9.  
  10. To install the Word high resolution text driver supplied with your Actix 
  11. ProSTAR VL, follow these instructions:
  12.   
  13.   1 If you have not already done so, install Microsoft Word onto your 
  14.     computer system. Follow the instructions supplied with Word. When asked for 
  15.     a screen display type, choose IBM Video Graphics Array (VGA).
  16.   
  17.   2 Run the Cirrus Logic installation program (INSTALL.EXE), and choose the 
  18.     option for the Microsoft Word drivers and specify the drive and directory 
  19.     where you want them copied to (such as C:\WORD5).

  21.  Note :
  22. To use the new drivers they must be installed to the same directory as Word. 
  23. Otherwise, they must be copied to the Word directory before they can be used.
  24.  
  25. INSTALL.EXE will copy two screen drivers:
  26.  
  27.  SCREEN8.VID - for 800x600 graphics resolution
  28.  SCREEN.VID - for 1024 x768 graphics resolution
  29.  
  30. The driver to be used must be named SCREEN.VID. When a file is renamed this, 
  31. it will overwrite the existing display driver. If you wish to preserve the 
  32. original, it should be renamed or copied prior to installation of the new 
  33. drivers.
  34. The new driver is now installed, and to use it, run Word as you normally 
  35. would. To view and change the screen resolutions, select Options, move the 
  36. cursor to display mode, and press [F1]. Choose the desired screen resolution 
  37. from the list presented. 
  38. A sub-menu will appear, listing all the choices of resolutions supported by 
  39. the ProSTAR text driver. Select the desired resolution.
  40.
