Review: Treasure Island Dizzy
=============================
The first ever Dizzy game to be released on the ST is still
going strong. With its addictive puzzles, bouncy music and
colourful graphics, it appeals to almost everyone. And at
£4.99, who's complaining.
If you don't know Dizzy by now, you never will. He's a
little egg with boxing gloves that bounces up and down,
walks around and solves puzzles. So far, he's been in six
adventures on the ST and he keeps coming back for more. His
latest adventure is Crystal Kingdom. There's not much more
to tell you about Dizzy, except that he's a very famous
computer character - nearly everyone has heard of him! Well,
I think that's put it all in an eggshell (ha! ha! ha!)
In this adventure, Dizzy's been made to walk the plank by
the evil pirate, Captain Blackheart. And guess what - he
happened to come across a comfy little treasure island, from
which he must use all of his intelligence to escape from.
All the puzzles in this game are pretty easy; things like
using a snorkel to go underwater and digging a grave with a
grave diggers spade are all pretty logical. Some things
aren't, though, and at times you do become very angry! There
is a helpline to ring if you're mega stuck, so all is not
rotten (ha! ha! Rotten egg! Ha! ha! - Oh dear, please
forgive me...)
The graphics are really nice, they're colourful and
animation is smooth. There's also a bouncy tune playing in
the background which I must say I find myself humming to in
odd places - like the toilet, for instance. Yes, I know....
If Codemasters ever stop producing Dizzy games I don't know,
but I hope not. Try this game, you won't be wasting your
money at £4.99, will you?
