==================================================
Okay, you want to know what it is? Read on.
Kelstar is a new disk magazine for users of the Atari range of
home computers.
What d`ya mean you`d guessed that already.Dammit,there`s
surprise out of the window.
Anyway,as I`ve said it`s a new diskmag,( dodges rotten fruit as
it whistles by ),yes, yes,I know there are plenty others, but this one`s
not quite the same,( waits for more rotten fruit.Aha! silence, good
I`ll carry on ).Most of the diskmags that I`ve read have concentrated
on the more serious side of computer use with news, reports, reviews of
various hardware and software etc.but have always included a bit of
humour and a letters page, stuff a bit less "computery".I always found
myself going to these more jovial bits first when I read a mag and
kind of wished that there had been a bit more of that type of stuff. To
that end I have come up with KELSTAR,although by definition obviously
anyone that reads this must be a computer user,it will not concentrate
on computer items with other stuff thown in,it`ll concentrate on other
stuff with computery bits thrown in.
The basic idea is really to have a bit of a natter,a bit of
banter and hopefully a laugh along the way.If I can do it I`d like to
create a little place where anyone can have the soap box for a few
minutes and tell everyone what they think is right or wrong in the
world. If you either agree or disagree with what anybody says in
KELSTAR,get your pen out,( got to watch with typing errors there ),and
drop me a line and I`ll put your view in the mag too.
Where it will end up is anybody`s guess of course, but I`m
willing to give it a bit of a spin.As with all diskmags the extent of
outside contributions will in the end decide which direction the mag
will take in the fullness of time and of course that`s where you come
in,there are several ways to contribute to KELSTAR and they are fully
outlined in the " Where is it " section.
The downside to me being a total numpty with the serious side
of the ST is of course that I could no more code a nice intro or
produce a groovy shell for this mag, than I could abseil down the south
face of Luciano Pavarotti.I would therefore welcome any such help in
that general direction. If there are any nice ladies or gentlemen out
there that are thinking " Cor,what a twat,I could do `im a nice little
intro no probs ",then I would love to hear from you almost as much as
I`d love to squeeze Pamela Anderson`s booby-doos to see if they really
do go hard when they`ve been in cold water.( Strange though that
almost exactly the opposite happens to me )
Right,I`ll waffle off now and let you peruse the rest of this
magazine. To end I`d just like to thank you for actually getting hold
of issue number 1,and I hope that you`ll enjoy it, and better still
get number 2,with a bit of luck you may even have an article in it
yourself. If you can`t get number two,( available from 1st April ) from
the same place you got this one, then send me a blank disk and an SAE
and I`ll be happy to supply one by return of post.Get hold of me any
time at the KELSTAR address.
