Wot A Scorcher!!!
Wot A Scorcher!
~~~~ COR BLIMEY WOT A SCORCHER ~~~~
===================================
~~~~ REVEIWED ~~~~
==================
'COR BLIMEY WOT A SCORCHER' is another brilliant mega demo from
The Lost Boys and as the Lost Boys always do, they have produced
an excellent demo. Even the option screen is good.
The option screen puts you in control of a very fast spaceship as
you fly over loads of rough terrain and then landing on the
landing spots to access one of the sub-demos. Flying the
spaceship is just a taster of how good all of the demo's are as
the scrolling smoothly glides along at a fast speed. Just this
Option screen can give you hours of fun trying to fly as low as
possible and then getting out of the way of a moutain as high as
Moby Dick when he's having an er.....And swiftly on! Reading the
message underneath on the option screen is also quite amusing as
is when you crash your ship. You will see your man go flying
out enduring alot of pain and you will then get a sarcy comment
like, "Moutains are hard, spaceships aren't!" sometimes you will
even get some verbal abuse involving some rude words...Ummmmmmmmm!
Then we have the Sub-Demos which are all very good, particulary
'Go ahead, make my bed!' which is very funny but gruesome (that
poor carebear!) but I won't say too much because it will spoil
your enjoyment if you get it but let me tell you that my baby
brother now steers well clear of the computer! The other demo's
are all very good even though they are not all majour break
throughs in computing. There are some nice effects and some very
good music, there are also some good title screens, such as the
one on, 'What a Bummer' you can probably imagine what the picture
is. There are lot's of nice touches, even if there are thousands
of scrolling messages and overall you get a very, very good demo
indeed.
By the way there is even a cheat mode on this demo which lets you
enter any sub-demo you want by simply pressing a function key. To
access the cheat mode you have to type 'MANCHESTER' when your ship
appears. You will then be called a 'LAZY GIT!' but if that
doesn't bother you then it's a good quick way of accessing the
demos.
~~ GOOD POINTS ~~
Good music.
Very entertaining.
Good option screen.
Some intresting effects.
Lots of nice little touches.
Has a cheat mode.
~~ BAD POINTS ~~
One or two demos are a bit repetative and boring.
~~ OVERALL SCORE ~~
90% - A very good demo which you will keep going back to.
