Turrets
~~~~ TURRETS ~~~~
=================
~~~~ REVIEWED ~~~~
==================
Turrets is a game like Grav and Grav 2. You control a spaceship by using
the turn and thrust method.
You go around in your spaceship shooting everything you see and then collect
the money that is left which will allow you to buy some power ups for your
ship once you have completed the level. I like this idea and it works quite
well.
The ship is harder to control than in Grav or Grav 2 and it doesn't move as
realistically as the ships in Grav and Grav 2.
The graphics are pretty basic although graphics in Grav aren't excellent.
Gameplay isn't as hectic either although I like this game.
I am sorry to keep on comparing it to Grav but this is very like Grav and
Grav 2 and is a good comparison.
In Turrets your ship moves very smoothly, animaton is crisp and although I
said graphics are nothing special, they are still nice and clear. There is
one little thing that really annoys me and that is just the little extra of
fire coming out of the back of your ship when you thrust. Turrets doesn't
have this like Grav and Grav 2 does and although it doesn't sound much, when
you actually play it, it does get on your nerves - Well, it did with me
anyway!!!
The game is reasonably good though, and it is wrong to compare it with Grav
I suppose although I DO think that if you don't have Grav OR Turrets then
you should go for Grav, if however you already have Grav (I have Grav and
Grav 2) it is intresting to see how other programmers have adapted the game
andI think that Turrets is worth getting.
Sound is basic by the way but it doesn't really effect the game much. You
can obtain Turrets form me as well as Grav and Grav 2 by sending me a blank
disk and return postage.
~~ UPS ~~
Smooth animation.
Clear graphics.
Can buy power ups.
~~ DOWNS ~~
Basic sound.
Nothing special about the graphics.
Not an orginal idea.
Not enough to keep you going back for more.
Not enough action.
