Here we go, more news on what's been happening in the ATARI scene. There's
not as much news this month because the scene has been quite silent but
here we go anyway...

=== COMPUTERS AREN'T EPILEPTIC ===
A recent report has cleared computers of causing epileptic fits. It has
been proven that getting your first epileptic fit from playing a computer
game, is a likely as getting a fit from watching T.V. Now, you can feel a
bit safer playing your games!

=== JAPANESE GOODNESS ===
We all know that the T.V.\monitor screen we are currently staring at is bad
for us...Maybe not to a critically dangerous level, but it IS bad for
us...That's been proven. A level of radiation is given off which is bad
for our health but the Japanese have come up with a new tube (the thing
that brings the picture to your screen) for computer screens and possibly
T.V.'s which stops outputting bad rays and actually gives out rays which
are GOOD for you. Watch this space for more information.

=== 40 THOUSAND AND ONE JAGUAR SALES ===
Already, ATARI have sold 40,000 JAGUAR consoles and sales are expected to
soar even more once properly released and advertised. Also, another sale
has just been made to Peter Shilling that has an exclusive review of the
system in THIS issue of POWER.
The JAGUAR is set to be officially released here in Britain very soon now.
It has been released in America and is on offer here now on import but at a
higher price.

=== THE JAGUAR CLAWS ANOTHER VICTORY ===
April 11th saw the London Computer Fair. On show were all the newest
games, newest hardware and all the computers and consoles you could ever
dream of. However, the best part of the show was that the ATARI JAGUAR
(Atari's new 64-bit mega console) won the BEST HARDWARE AWARD. Yet another
victory to the new console which is set to hit the British streets
officially very soon.

=== ELITE 2 FLYS AWAY PROUDLY ===
The famous simulator, ELITE 2 (sequel to ELITE believe it or not!) has
taken away the award for the best game at the London Computer Fair. The
game is said to be superior to it's older brother and is a game that should
grace all computers.

=== NEW DISKS...OLD DRIVES ===
One particular company (which I am not allowed to name at this point) has
been telling POWER of a possible new design for the 3.5" floppy disk. The
new disk will be cheaper to make but will be able to contain the same
amount of data (possibly even more!) and will work on all drives, no
special drive will be needed to use these. The reason for these new disks
is because very soon, disk prices are going to have to be increased again,
or so this company think and they don't think that we would be prepared to
buy as many new disks if the price went up again, so instead, pricing will
be kept the same with these new disks if the idea takes off. Watch this
space for more information.

=== FLOPPY PRICES ===
Due to a large increase in customers and sales, FLOPPYSHOP have decided
that they can reduce their P.D. prices by 50p a disk and have done so (this
is underway now). However, these new prices do not cover licenceware
disks. These remain at their normal prices.
