Exile - Audiogenic
Hints supplied by Nigel Parker
Nigel says:I notice from your SynTax Help Wanted that James Judge
(like myself) appears to be stuck in the game Exile. So I thought
it might be a good idea to write in and tell you exactly how far
into the game I have got, and then James (or anyone else) could
see if I might be able to help them. Also, if they have got
further then myself, then perhaps they could help me!
This game has really bugged me because I feel I am so close, but
yet so far, from the ending!
I am also enclosing some hints that I received from Audiogenic
when I wrote to them in desperation. It has been a while since I
had a long session on the game (because I got stuck) but this
should give an idea of whereabouts I am.
I have collected all four weapons, the protection suit, all six
passes, the jet boost, an alien gun, Fluffy and one of the
whistles.
I dropped a snail to eat some flowers so that I could progress
down a corridor going past a lot of hallucinatory mushrooms. I
then had to shoot a rabbit to get a sucking clam. The next bit
involved killing lots of white birds to get down onto a platform
above a cannon. Opposite this cannon are three doors which you can
make the cannon destroy. I then went through this opening and
collected pass number 6. Further to the left of this position I
came across Sprake (one of the captured crew), but I think I have
to get through a door which is located below the cannon (that blew
the three doors), next to a sucking clam, which is next to another
cannon (phew!). I think I need to use an object on the clam (to
stop it sucking) before I can progress further.
Hints from Audiogenic:
To get the RCD:
This is locked in a fire below a door of rock. Press the button on
the right to move the slab, use your personal transporter to
re-enter the cave to avoid the beam which closes the door. And
have a jug of water handy!
To make Coronium crystals:
Collect mushrooms and briefly expose them to fire. Coronium
crystals are a favourite dish of one of the more friendly
inhabitants.
To make Coronium rocks:
Drop a Coronium crystal on a slime creature. Pick up the rock
which appears, take it to an acid outlet and allow a drop to fall
on it. You now have a Coronium rock, two joined halves have an
interesting effect!
A word about clams:
These strange creatures have many habits. When they see something
they like or dislike they blow or suck with great power. Different
clams prefer different objects, some may want to eat you, others
prefer fish!!
More about clams:
There's a clam that prevents you taking your rock to a nearby acid
outlet. By this stage you should have four guns. One of these
should solve the problem.
A few tips:
All transporters can be switched on and off with the RCD and the
correct pass.
You can't fly down the main wind tunnel unless you are carrying a
heavy object.
Your life raft happens to be bullet proof.
Piranha can be picked up and stored in your pockets if you are
careful. They are also strong swimmers.
Some gun turrets can be disabled if you find the right button or
switch.
