Shareware statement
-------------------
This program, and the design/layout are copyright N.Lello.
The demo version is licensed for use for 30 days; at which time the program
must be removed from your system and all backups.
If you wish to register, please refer to the methods of payment at the end of
this document.
It is your moral obligation to inform me of any cracked versions of this
program in order that I may take action. Such information will be rewarded.
What is NLFish ?
----------------
NLFish is a COMMERCIAL fish-disk database which allows archiving of files/disks
from almost any configurable media/format for users to download from.
Currently, the program will only work on DLG BBS systems, but I am planning
to make the program compatible with StarNet and any other BBSs if enough
interest is shown.
Demo Version Restrictions
-------------------------
The demo package contains only the main program, NLFish and configuration
files to enable the program to be run on most CD-based systems.
The program will only allow users to archive selected files from EVEN numbered
fish disks, this is to provide a fully-working program with some restrictions.
Installing NLFish on DLG Systems
--------------------------------
To install NLFish, you must first obtain a copy of the Aquarium database.
Restore this to a directory on your harddisk and assign Fish: to it.
Fish: must be permanently assigned for NLFish to run.
Now select the configuration file suitable for your setup, and copy it to
file Fish:NLFish.cfg:-
Config files
Fish1.2.cfg For v1.2 of the fish'n'more CD
Fish1.3.cfg For v1.3 of the fish'n'more CD
Fish1.3Net.cfg For v1.3 of the fish'n'more on NET:CD0/
Add NLFish to any DLG menu with the following command line:-
NLFish %SCLENGTH %ANSI User:%UNAME %LEVEL <archive level>
<archive level> defines the minimum user level required for archiving,
users below this level will not have the archive option shown.
NLFish is now ready to go !
Should none of the example cfg files be useful for you, please contact
myself by one of the methods at the end of this document, and I will
prepare a demo .cfg for your use.
IMPORTANT! Using Networked devices for Fish Disks
-------------------------------------------------
If you are using a CDTV or other device connected through NET: (parnet),
NLFish will require to copy files to temporary directory NLTemp:
Ensure that NLTemp: is assigned, preferably to a spare directory/partition
on your hard disk. All files created in this area will be deleted after
use.
What do I get for registering this program ?
--------------------------------------------
In exchange for your registration fee, you will receive:-
1) Tools to enable NLFish to operate faster.
2) A 'newfish' replacement that does not 'barf' after disk 430....
3) Configuation Editor (essential for 'split' file bases)
4) A personalised keyfile.
5) My personal support of the program, and my listening to suggestions
for enhancements/expansion.
6) Any other fish database related utilities that I write in the meantime
