<p>You can enter a <glossary>short sell</glossary> transaction in an investment account to track your gain or loss. For advice on performing a short sell, contact your broker or financial representative.</p>

<li>On the <emph>Investing</emph> menu, click <emph>Portfolio</emph>.</li>
<li>Click an investment account to open it.</li>
<li>Click <emph>New</emph>.</li>
<li>In the <emph>Investment </emph>box, click an existing investment or enter a new investment.</li>
<p>To enter a new investment, type its name, click the <emph>Activity</emph> box, and then follow the instructions on the screen. Use a different name than the company name. For example, you could call a short sale of ABC stock "ABC Put."</p>
<li>In the <emph>Activity</emph> box, click <emph>Short Sell</emph>.</li>
<li>In the <emph>Quantity</emph> box, enter a positive number. (Money knows that you actually owe shares, so you don't need to enter a negative number.)</li>
<li>Enter any additional information, and then click <emph>Enter</emph>.</li>
