RFF Extractor -- Blood .RFF lump extractor
----------------------------------------------------------
version 2.0 BETA Copyright (C) 1997, Simply Silly Software
[WHAT IS RFFEX]
RFFEX is a utility to extract lumps from the .RFF package files included with
Monolith's Blood. The .RFF files are similar to the .WAD files for DOOM or
the .GRP files in Duke Nukem.
RFFEX makes extracting data from these files simple and fast.
[SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS]
RFFEX requires Win95 and 8 meg of ram.
[USEING RFFEX]
Using RFFEX is simple. Just open any .RFF file and a list of all lumps
inside the file will be displayed. If you are working with sound effect
lumps (.RAW files) you can right click on the list with a .RAW selected
and play the file as a .WAV!
[SAVING SOUNDS AS WAVS]
RFFEX 2.0 beta has the ability to rip out the .RAW files and save them as
.WAV files. You will notice the extract dialog has an option to convert
.RAW to .WAV! You can also select what Sampling Rate to save as.
[KNOWN BUGS]
The only know bug is a weird one when extracting all files. For some reason,
it will get an EXCEPTION I/O:82. I have yet to be able to find out what this
exception really is. Working on it though and it's the reason why it's still
in beta.
[REBUILD RFFS]
I have not coded this as I still do not know what 2 or 3 of the fields do.
I also do not know the date/time format yet.. Another few days maybe.
[SUPPORT]
There isn't any.. I did this quick to be able to rip the files myself. If you
need support, you shouldn't be hacking Blood at this time. However if you
have a question or figure something out I don't know, feel free to email me
at jwilcox@sillysoft.com
