- CREATIVE ASSOCIATIONS TEST
- The creative individual is intelli-
- gent but not all intelligent people
- are creative. Research has shown
- other attributes, such as originali-
- ty, flexibility and memory to be
- important. This test was based on a
- definition of creativity as "the
- forming of associative elements into
- new combinations." Given the word
- CHAIR, the uncreative person may
- respond only TABLE and SIT. The
- creative person may say PARLIAMENT,
- ELECTRIC, SWIVEL, and so on. Re-
- search has established this as a
- valid measure of an intriguing as-
- pect of creativity.
