  3.                     How to use the HELP Facility
  4.  
  5.      Read the line in color on the bottom of the screen.  These instructions
  6. tell you how to page through the HELP screens.
  7.

  9.           press letter  < f >  to advance to the NEXT screen page
  10.  
  11.           press letter  < j >  to go back to the PREVIOUS screen page
  12.  
  13.           press the < ┘ > Enter Key to exit HELP and re-display menu

  27.      The MAIN Menu is the master list used to control your access to other
  28. menu lists in FAS-TYPE.  There are five menu selection lists, all controlled
  29. by your use of the function keys located to the left of the main typing keys.
  30.  
  31.      NO SELECTIONS CAN BE MADE FROM ANY HELP FACILITY,  you have to press the
  32. enter <┘> Key to re-display the menu in order for the function keys to become
  33. operable.
  34.  
  35. When any menu is displayed the F1 function key is the HELP Facility for that
  36. menu.  You're here because you pressed the F1 function key while the MAIN menu
  37. was displayed on the screen.  The F9 function key will always cause the MAIN
  38. Menu to be displayed,  and pressing F10 will always begin a new drill or exer-
  39. cise; F10 must ALWAYS BE PRESSED FIRST to start typing.

  42.           < F2 >  BEGINNER Drills Menu - (Learn Keyboard)
  43.      Press this function key if you want to select drills from the Beginners
  44. Menu.  The Beginners Menu lets you select the letters, symbols, numbers, and
  45. Capital letters that you want to learn how to type.

  51.           < F3 >  Beginner Exercises Menu
  52.      Press this function key if you want to select predefined exercises from
  53. disk.  All exercises selected from this menu will contain all of the letters
  54. of the alphabet, semi-colon, enter key, and space bar. Use of Capital
  55. letters, symbols, and numbers are in the predefined exercises of the Advanced
  56. Menu.

  59.           < F4 >  Advanced Exercises Menu
  60.      Press this function key if you want to select predefined exercises from
  61. disk that will test all your typing skills.  These exercises contain words,
  62. sentences, and paragraphs which tests your skills at numbers, symbols, and
  63. Capital letters.

  66.           < F5 >  Keyboard Aids Menu
  67.      Press this function key if you want to set up some keyboard aids such as
  68. outlining the home keys, selecting the hidden key option, sounding the speaker
  69. when you make a keystroke error, etc.

  75.           < F6, F7 >  These keys are not used by the Main Menu

  78.           < F8 > Exit to PC-DOS
  79.      When you get tired of typing practice then press this key to exit
  80. FAS-TYPE and enter the PC-DOS Operating System mode.

  83.           < F9 > Re-Display the Main Menu
  84.      In keeping with the consistency of use of the F9 function key; pressing
  85. this key while the Main menu is displayed will simply re-display the Menu.

  88.           < F10 > START Drill
  89.      Display the Screen Keyboard and begin any previously selected exercise.
  90. If none was selected, you will be drilled on the HOME keys only.

  92.    ** YOU MUST ALWAYS PRESS F10 FIRST TO BEGIN A DRILL OR EXERCISE **
  93.   
  94.  The <ESC>ape Key: Press ANYTIME to stop what you are doing. The Main Menu
  95. will be re-displayed. Previous drill & option selections remain set.
