  7.         SCARYFISH!  You'll be famous!  Just send in a disk with RECORDS.SF2 
  8.         by the end of 1995; printouts would be too easy to forge.  Include
  9.         your name & address; there's an entry form at the end of this file.

  47.         To enter, send a floppy disk (either size) with your RECORDS.SF2 
  48.         and RECORDS2.SF2 file(s) to PMP Software Records Contest, 4021 
  49.         Meramec St #5, Saint Louis MO  63116-3559.  A sample entry form is 
  50.         at end of this file.

  52.         You can also enter via email by sending your RECORDS*.SF2 file(s)
  53.         and ENTRY.FRM info to pmpsoft@crl.com.  If enter via email and
  54.         win a free update, you'll get the update sent quickly by email.
  55.  
  56.         Entries must be postmarked on or before December 31, 1995.  If
  57.         sent by email, the date must be December 31 1995 or earlier.  No
  58.         forged date info!
  59.  
  60.         Void where prohibited.

  62.         You may enter as often as you like, but multiple instances of the 
  63.         same record will only be counted once.

  65.         PMP Software members and their families are not eligible.
  66.         Employees and immediate families of sponsors of this contest
  67.         are not eligible for prizes offered by that sponsor.

  69.         If you want your disk back, include a SASE with appropriate postage 
  70.         (that would probably not be worth it).

  72.         Any character named 'Anonymous' is not eligible.

  74.         A record can be set at a world created with the SCARYFISH Make 
  75.         Your Own Worlds utility.  Results will have a * by the world
  76.         name to indicate a user-created world.
  77.  
  78.         If you have records set at worlds created with the Make Your Own
  79.         Worlds Utility, include the file USRWRLDS.SF2 if you want the
  80.         records to list the names of the user-created worlds.

  82.         You don't have to be registered, but the superior action at the 
  83.         registered user worlds would probably increase your chance of 
  84.         winning a prize.  See "Registration/Ordering Info" from the game's 
  85.         main menu or the file ORDER.FRM.

  87.         Not responsible for lost or misdirected entries, or if your records
  88.         file(s) are unreadable.

  90.         You can send multiple records files on the same disk (ex. running 
  91.         the game on machines at home and work, and you have impressive 
  92.         records on both), but give them different names like 'RECORDS1.SF2', 
  93.         'RECORDS2.SF2', etc. so they don't get overwritten.
  94.  
  95.         In the case of a tie between different characters, a computer-
  96.         generated random number will pick one winner, with each tied 
  97.         contestant getting equal chance of winning.  For multiple instances 
  98.         of the exact same character/record combination, the one with a
  99.         corresponding transcript file will be considered authentic.  
  100.         Sending in multiple copies of the same record will NOT increase 
  101.         your odds of winning!  For the "Most 2nd place records", the total
  102.         counts ties as a fraction, i.e. a 2-way tie is .5, a 4-way is .25.
  103.  
  104.         PMP Software reserves the right to refer to a winning contestant as 
  105.         "Anonymous" if the character name is profane or might otherwise be
  106.         considered offensive.  Ditto for user-created world names.
  107.  
  108.         How to see the list of winners and their impressive records:
  109.         1) Get a 1996 version of SCARYFISH.
  110.         2) Send SASE to PMP Software and indicate you want results list.
  111.         3) Email PMP Software requesting the results list or download it
  112.            from the PMP Software ftp directory listed in READ.ME.
  113.         4) Encourage your favorite outdoors publication to print the
  114.            results list or a sample of it!
  115.  
  116.         Hacked or otherwise forged entries will be disqualified.
  117.  
  118.         Second Prize winners will get only one free update, even if they set 
  119.         multiple 2nd Prize records.
  120.  
  121.         In the event that no record is set (possible with categories where
  122.         the program maintains only one record), no Second Prize will be 
  123.         awarded for that specific record.  For categories with multiple
  124.         records, you don't necessarily have to beat the preset #1 record 
  125.         to win.
  126.  
  127.         To clarify the "Most 2nd prizes" record, that is for one character
  128.         on one disk (can include the same character on two records files).
  129.         Automatic 2nd prizes from a Grand or First Prize are not included
  130.         in the total: #1 of Top 20, biggest of that species, IFGA for that 
  131.         line class; Most Points for the session; Most Fish for the session.

  134.         Notes:
  135.  
  136.         Remember the records are stored in 2 files, RECORDS.SF2 and
  137.         RECORDS2.SF2.  Include both when you enter.
  138.  
  139.         Use DOS or your favorite file manager to copy the records file(s)
  140.         onto the floppy you'll be sending to enter the contest.  Example 
  141.         with the game on a C: hard drive in the directory C:\SCARY2 and a 
  142.         virus-free, formatted floppy in drive A:
  143.                 C:> CD\SCARY2
  144.                 C:\SCARY2> COPY RECORDS*.SF2 A:\
  145.         If you run the game from a floppy, you probably want to copy the
  146.         records file(s) from the game disk to a new floppy to be sent in,
  147.         as opposed to sending in your game disk.

  149.         When making a copy of the shareware version of SCARYFISH for a
  150.         friend or uploading to a BBS, use the original "blank" RECORDS.SF2
  151.         dated 02-20-95 (from the master or backup disk).  If you gave some-  
  152.         one a copy without "blank" records, thanks for promoting shareware,
  153.         but some fiend might try to claim one of your records as their own,
  154.         so include transcript file(s) of your best record(s).
  155.         
  156.         List your character name(s) on the entry form.  If the records were
  157.         not "blank" from where you got the game, don't try to claim other
  158.         people's records as your own.  They probably have transcripts 
  159.         proving they're the real one.
