  20. 1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
  21.  
  22. Centaurus Personal Information Manager is a program for Windows 95 
  23. that enables you to manage and print personal information.  There are 
  24. four main panels:
  25.  
  26. Contacts: Maintain information on your contacts.  Clicking on the 
  27. label captions changes the sorted order in the list box.  You are also 
  28. able to create a mail merge file from this data.
  29.  
  30. Card File: Maintain any type of information in a card file type format.
  31.  
  32. Memos: Create up to 12 memos.
  33.  
  34. Calendar: Schedule appointments and maintain annual events, such as 
  35. birthdays or other reoccurring events.  If Notify is enabled, you 
  36. will be reminded by a pop up window whenever you start the program.

  38. All program functions can be performed by the mouse or Shortcut Keys.

  41. 2. PROGRAM OPERATION
  42.  
  43. The ToolBar: Consist of 10 icon buttons.  These are: Contacts, Memos, 
  44. Card File, Calendar, Notify, Print, Options, About, Help, and Exit.

  46. The Options Window: Used to set program defaults and options.

  50. 3. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  51.  
  52. 486 or better PC
  53. 24 meg RAM or better
  54. Microsoft Windows 95
  55. VGA or SVGA monitor
  56. 10 meg of free disk space for program files

  59. 4. INSTALLATION
  60.  
  61. CsdPim21.zip will have extracted 5 installation files as listed below:
  62.  
  63. PimSetup.exe
  64. Disk1.bnd
  65. Disk2.bnd
  66. Disk3.bnd
  67. ReadMe.txt
  68.  
  69. There are two methods available for installation:
  70.  
  71. To install directly from the hard disk:
  72.  
  73. Click the Start Button and then click Run.  Click Browse, locate the
  74. directory where you have previously unzipped CsdPim21.zip, then
  75. click on PimSetup.exe, and then click OK.  Follow the instructions 
  76. provided by the setup program.  When prompted to insert disk 2 and 
  77. disk 3, click OK.

  79. To create installation diskettes:
  80. You will need three 1.44 Mb blank formatted diskette.
  81.  
  82. Label the 1st diskette: "Centaurus PIM, ver 2.1, disk 1 of 3
  83. Copy to this diskette the PimSetup.exe, ReadMe.txt, and Disk1.bnd 
  84. files that were extracted from CSDPim21.zip.

  86. Label the 2nd diskette: "Centaurus PIM, ver 2.1, disk 2 of 3
  87. Copy to this diskette, the Disk2.bnd file that was extracted from 
  88. CSDPim21.zip.

  90. Label the 3rd diskette: "Centaurus PIM, ver 2.1, disk 3 of 3
  91. Copy to this diskette, the Disk3.bnd file that was extracted from 
  92. CSDPim21.zip.

  94. Diskette Setup Instructions:
  95. Insert the 1st diskette in drive A:, click the Start Button and click 
  96. Run.  Enter a:\PimSetup.exe, then click OK.  Follow the instructions 
  97. provided by the setup program.

  100. After you have successfully installed the CsdPim program, you can 
  101. delete all the files (PimSetup.exe, Disk1.bnd, Disk2.bnd, Disk3.bnd, 
  102. and ReadMe.txt) that were extracted from CsdPim21.zip from your hard 
  103. drive, as they are no longer required.  You might want to keep 
  104. CsdPim21.zip for archiving purposes.

  109. These system files will be installed in your \windows\system 
  110. directory if they do not exist, or if the existing installed files 
  111. are not current versions:

  143. 6. SHAREWARE REGISTRATION
  144.  
  145. This program is an unregistered version for evaluation use only.  It 
  146. is distributed as Shareware, which is based on the honor principals 
  147. allowing you to try before you buy.  You may use this program for a 
  148. trial period of 14 days at no cost.  During this evaluation period, 
  149. printing and mail exporting functions will be disabled.
  150.  
  151. If you continue to use it beyond the trial period, you are required 
  152. to pay a registration fee of $20.00.  Upon doing so, you will receive 
  153. a registration code with instructions to register the program.  This 
  154. will eliminate the registration reminder screen from appearing every 
  155. time you start the program and enable printing and mail exporting 
  156. functions.

  174.  
  175. Using the Windows Explorer, go to the directory where you installed 
  176. CsdPim, and double click on unstall.exe.
