  1. IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT CALLAUDIT VOICE

  3. CallAudit Voice requires a number of things for proper
  4. operation:
  5.  
  6. 1. TAPI compliant voice MODEM or voice device
  7. 2. Microphone and speakers
  8. 3. Microsoft UniModemV installed (for MODEM use)
  9. 4. Voice enabled MODEM INF file
  10. 5. Windows 95
  11.  
  12. CallAudit Voice is designed to take maximum advantage of
  13. Caller ID.  Caller ID is a service available from most 
  14. local telephone companies.  CallAudit Voice will provide
  15. the best performance and utility when Caller ID service
  16. is also available.

  21. TAPI MODEMs
  22.  
  23. Most voice capable MODEMs are also TAPI compliant.  The key
  24. components necessary for proper operation are the voice 
  25. MODEM, Microsoft UniModemV, and a MODEM INF file that has
  26. been tailored for TAPI voice use.

  28. Microphone and Speakers
  29.  
  30. Callaudit Voice includes a variety of voice mail features
  31. and capabilities.  Playing and recording voice data requires
  32. a microphone and speakers attached to the voice device.

  34. Microsoft UniModemV
  35.  
  36. UniModemV is an updated Microsoft TAPI MODEM driver.  
  37. UniModemV includes support for Caller ID and a variety of
  38. voice functions.  UniModemV must be installed if CallAudit
  39. Voice is to be used with a MODEM.  UniModemV is included as
  40. part of the software package.  Choose the Custom installation
  41. to have UniModemV also installed.

  44. Voice Enabled MODEM INF file
  45.  
  46. A voice MODEM must have an INF file installed in Windows that
  47. includes details on voice functions used with TAPI.  Most 
  48. current hardware MODEM vendors provide suitable INF file.  
  49. The installation package includes a number of INF files that
  50. have already been tailored for a number of popular MODEMs.
  51. Choose the Custom installation to have these modified INF 
  52. files installed.

  54. Windows 95
  55.  
  56. CallAudit Voice only supports Windows 95 at this time.  Windows
  57. NT does not yet have the required voice support in TAPI to be
  58. used with this software.  Microsoft is expected to update NT
  59. later in 1997 which would support these options.
