  2. To play music with the program, you need to enter
  3. notes into the computer. This may be done in two
  4. ways. First, you may use your computer keyboard.
  5. The computer keys are arranged as such:

  13. The 's' key is middle C. The 'e' key is C#. When
  14. you are not actively playing the game the note
  15. symbol and name are displayed. Use this feature
  16. to explore the keyboard assignments.

  18. You will need to use the SHIFT, CTRL and ALT keys
  19. to shift the note values of the keys. CTRL will
  20. raise the values of the keys by one octave, which
  21. is 12 semitones. For instance, middle C will be
  22. raised to C above middle C. SHIFT lowers the keys
  23. by one octave. ALT lowers the keys by two octaves.

  27. on the on-screen piano keyboard.
