You may use SoundSculptor to create custom sounds
for other Ibis music software. Play It By Ear,
RhythmAce and NotePlay load a sound file, IBIS.INS,
at startup time. If the file does not exist then
an internally specified default timbre is used.
To create a new timbre for an Ibis program:
1) Use SoundSculptor to design your new timbre.
2) Save the new timbre to "IBIS.INS". Use the
File main menu button and select the
"Save to INS" item from the pop-up menu. When
prompted for the timbre's name, type in "IBIS".
3) Quit SoundSculptor. Use the ESC key on your
computer keyboard.
4) Use the DOS "COPY" command to copy IBIS.INS to
the home directory of the IBIS program. For
example:
C:> COPY C:\SS\IBIS.INS C:\EAR
Note: This assumes that you have installed
SoundSculptor in a subdirectory on your C:
drive with the name "SS" and Play It By Ear
was installed in a subdirector called "EAR".
