  1. Confessions Of A Download Junkie

  4. OK, lets face it, i'm a download junkie!
  5.  
  6. When do you know you are addicted to downloading?
  7.  
  8. 1.) You wake up, make coffee (maybe), then hit the BBS
  9.  
  10. 2.) You never read the bulletins on any bbs you log onto.
  11.     okay...if the sysop threatens you, then you scan them
  12.     real quick.
  13.  
  14. 3.) You never read a single message on any bbs, maybe one or
  15.     two, but you really never read them, you scan them. and
  16.     you hate to enter one, okay, maybe if it's a quick one that
  17.     asks for accesss to another bbs you you want to call and download
  18.     from (this will keep your level up a little, right ?).
  19.  
  20. 4.) You download everything that is new, even if you don't
  21.     understand what the programm will do.
  22.  
  23. 5.) Your download/upload ratio always seems to be on the edge.
  24.     funny how some sysops keep giving me messages to upload ?
  25.  
  26. 6.) You've downloaded the same file more then once.
  27.  
  28. 7.) You've downloaded the same file more then twice.
  29.  
  30. 8.) You've called the same bbs more then once in a day (I tend to forget).
  31.  
  32. 9.) You've called the same bbs more then twice in a day
  33.     (Hey! He might have got a new program in the last 15 minutes!)
  34.  
  35. 10.)You notice your hard drive is filling up with programs.
  36.  
  37. 11.)You can't remember what any of them are ? or do ?
  38.  
  39. 12.)You never even unzip them to see what the program is !
  40.  
  41. 13.)You have a closet full of zipped disks (some dating back
  42.     a year or two). okay... maybe just a few drawers full.
  43.  
  44. 14.)You don't care if you ever unzip any of them.
  45.  
  46. 15.)You get your kicks from just downloading ! (you like looking
  47.     at the bar graph of 2 modem, beats tv, right !).
  48.  
  49. 16.)You say to yourself, i'm a collector !! (so... you have a lot
  50.     of out dated programs).
  51.  
  52. 17.)The wife is always saying," get off that $%~)^† computer!".
  53.  
  54. 18.)The grass is a foot high, but you have to get that new program.
  55.  
  56. 19.)Your neighbours ask your wife,"what is that beeping I hear all night".
  57.     it's you, the download was succesful! ...thank god !! I really needed
  58.     that one.
  59.  
  60. 20.)When you are on vacation you bring your lap top with you...hey! they
  61.     might have something here I've never downloaded before...right?
  62.  
  63. 21.)You have panic attacks when anything happens to your modem.
  64.  
  65. 22.)You panic when anyome goes near your computer or modem.
  66.     Some people give off a lot of static electricity!
  67.  
  68. 23.)Your hard drive just crashed, your car needs a tune-up... the hard drive
  69.     is in the shop, you'll tune-up the car your self... next week!
  70.  
  71. 24.)It's four am in the morning...well I better go to bed now...I have a bunch
  72.     of files to douwnload tomorrow...I'm a collector you know!!

  74. 25.)Oops...is that the sun I see aising? or somebodies headlights?
