N-PLOT Scientific Graphing Software
Latest version: 2.33
ƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒ
System Requirements: MS- or PC-DOS 2.1 or above
8088 or above
Math coprocessor recommended
640k RAM required
Mouse required
HPGL plotter or printer required for printouts
NPLOT is a publication-quality scientific mathematical analysis
and graphing package. Many graphs created on NPLOT have already
appeared in the literature.
Some of the features of NPLOT are:
˛ Import ASCII, DIF, binary, and user-definable data formats.
˛ Configurable spreadsheet
˛ Command editor with programmable command language
˛ User-definable and many built-in mathematical functions, which
can be applied to any data set or all data sets.
˛ Cut-and-paste editing of data.
˛ Menu-driven interface (commands and abbreviated commands can also
be used).
Plotting features:
˛ 12 different scalable fonts
˛ 100 different fill patterns (for bar graphs, etc.)
˛ Plot bar graphs, point-to-point, spline, 3D backbone or surface
plot, color-coded bar plot, permutation plot, plot of linear
regression.
˛ Automatic scaling and sizing
˛ All plot parameters, colors, line styles, sizes and positions,
fonts, etc. are fully adjustable using menus
˛ Number of curves per plot is limited only by available memory
(up to 640K)
˛ Effortlessly add labels in 4 directions and 1000 sizes.
˛ Add graphic elements (boxes, circles, Bezier curves, etc.) to the
plot) - or create a drawing by itself.
˛ All labels, pattern fills, data, and graph parameters can be stored
on disk.
˛ Save image of graph on disk. (Image is also readable by TN-Image).
˛ Plot graph on plotter or HP-compatible PCL or HPGL laser or inkjet
printer.
˛ Cut and paste to precisely move parts of the graph (such as labels).
˛ Automatic curve tracing
˛ Plotting of HPGL files on screen
Mathematical features:
˛ Non-linear regression, using one of 5 predefined equations or
a user-definable equation with up to 20 parameters. The user-
definable equation can be composed of any number of other
user-defined formulas created in the command editor.
˛ Peak detection and integration
˛ Vector and matrix operations (matrix inverse, transpose,
cross product, etc.; user-definable math operations on vectors)
˛ Data smoothing and digital filtering
˛ FFT, convolution, and FFT deconvolution
˛ Linear regression, root finding of polynomials, and evaluation
of polynomials (features often used in the laboratory for analyzing
standard curves, etc.)
˛ Solving a set of linear equations
˛ Many other functions, including sort, squeeze, expand, and statistics.
