  1. J-PERK INSTALL NOTES

  8. If you received an error stating:
  9.  
  10. "A required .DLL file, MSVBVM50.DLL, was not found"
  11.  
  12. and J-Perk won't run, you must download this file from:
  13.  
  14. ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/win95/dll/vb5rtsp3.zip
  15.  
  16.  
  17. Unzip the vb5rtsp3.zip file and run the vb5rtsp3.exe file contained 
  18. within it.  This file will install the files that J-Perk 
  19. needs in order to execute correctly.  When it has completed the 
  20. installation, then run J-Perk.  Our Web site

  28. IF YOU ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS WHILE INSTALLING:
  29.  
  30. If you encounter error messages during installation which give you the option 
  31. to "Abort, Ignore, Retry", first retry, then if that doesn't work choose Ignore 
  32. each time it asks you.
  33.  
  34. When setup completes, it is most likely that J-Perk will work, but the applets
  35. did not install.  Find the applet pack (applets.zip) included with the J-Perk 
  36. evaluation zip file and unzip it into your J-Perk directory.  This should do 
  37. the trick.

  41. INSTALLATION:
  42. To install J-Perk, make a temporary directory called
  43. INSTALL (or something you prefer), change to that directory (cd INSTALL), 
  44. and copy the jperk.zip file into it. 
  45.  
  46. Unzip the jperk.zip file using PKUNZIP or WINZIP.  Using PKUNZIP, type 
  47. the following command at the prompt:

  49. PKUNZIP jperk.zip

  53. Run the SETUP.EXE file using File Manager, My Computer, Explorer or execute 
  54. it from the Run Command prompt.  Follow the prompts and dialog boxes to 
  55. install J-Perk on your computer.

  57. Installation should be a breeze!!

  61. The applets that are included with J-Perk are separate from the sold product.  
  62. They have only been included as an extra in this package.  The selling price ONLY
  63. reflects the cost of J-Perk, and any additional files have not been included 
  64. in the sale price.  These applets can be downloaded from the New Media Lab at 
  65. Sun Microsystems, Inc.
