Tekken 2 Time Attack and Survival FAQ V.1
By TweeKeR (sloach@hotmail.com)
Sal Mazzurco
Introduction
I am creating this FAQ because even though Tekken 2 is old, I have
never seen a Time Attack FAQ for it. The Time Attack mode is very
simple once you know the right moves and so I am making this FAQ for the
characters who I have very good times with. If there is a character
that I do not talk about in here that you know a good time attack
strategy with, then please email me. Also, if there is a character not
mentioned in here that you want a good Time Attack strategy with then
also please email me.
The secret to Time Attack is just to know the quickest, most deadliest
move with whatever character you use. You do not have to necesarrily be
good with the character you are using, you just have to know what moves
to use. I found Yoshimitsu to be the quickest in Time Attack, but I
would NEVER use him in regular play or against someone else. I would
use King against someone else, but in Time Attack mode, King is
terrible.(I came out MINUTES behind my Yoshi Score).
Character Profiles
Yoshimitsu: Not a character I would ordinarily pick simply for lack of
different moves, but definately the easiest character I have found to
get a good Time Attack score with. You can easily win a round in 2-3
seconds with him. Just as soon as the round starts hit f,F,1+2, 3+4,
1+2. If the last hit knocks your opponent in the air but he is not dead
, then use the suicide move.(D,1+4) if it will kill him. If it does it
will save you lots of time, but if it doesnÆt it will waste more than it
will save. just play with it to see when it will kill himand when it
wonÆt. You also have to get your timing down so that you stab through
yourself and hit your opponent as he is falling. Using this strategy
with Yoshi I have racked up scores of under 2 minutes.
Bruce:
I use Bruce a lot more than I would Yoshi but it is a lot
easier to defeat the computer with Bruce than a good human oppenent.
Just use the first three hits of BruceÆs Special (3,2,1) and if the last
hit connects then hit df,3,1 to do a low quick followed by an uppercut.
You have to get the timing right so the uppercut hits as well as the low
quick. This 5 hit combo does MASSIVE damage. In practice mode it
registers it as 91%. If the computer blocks the SECOND hit of the Bruce
special he we also block the third. If this happens then you should add
the last hit (4) to the combo and Bruce will do a little trip kick at
the end that almost always hit the computer opponent. If this happens
you can either do f,f,3 to do a running spinning kick or you can start
the Bruce Special as soon as the oppenent starts to get up.(It works
best if you do it a split second before. If you get the timing right,
then if the openent tries to attack while getting up, you will hit him
with the Bruce Special setting him up for the low kick-uppercut combo.
This strategy also works very good in survival mode.
Baek:
One of my favorite characters against a human opponent, the only
thing is no counter :( Baek is great in survival mode and I got up to
the forties with him many times. One of the simpliest thing is to do
the d+3,3,3 combo. Baek will do two low kicks then a medium kick that
will send his opponent into the air if it connects. If the last hit
connects then juggle with 1, a short delay, F+4,another short delay
f,F+4. Baek will punch his opponent, hit him with a heel kick, and then
another type of heel kick. Also, the second attack CAN hit an opponent
on the ground.
That is all the time I have for this FAQ right now, if you want to get
a strategy for either time attack or survival with a different character
than please email me and I will see what I can do. Thanks.
