/****************************************************************************\
XCOM II Cheat Utility Version 1.04 Copyright (c) 1995 Douglas Peterson
\****************************************************************************/
Thanks for trying out my cheat utility, this is the first one I've ever
released.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Put X2CHEAT.EXE in your XCOM II directory and run it.
Press ESC to exit current menu or program (if at game select menu).
Press F1 for online help at any menu.
REQUIREMENTS:
386 or better
VGA graphics card or better
DOS 3.0 or better
Since XCOM requires the same, if you can run XCOM, you can run this.
DISCLAIMER:
This program is freeware and is released as is into the public domain
with no warranty, either expressed or implied. In no event shall I be
liable for any loss of profit or any other damage, including but not limited
to special, incidental, consequential, or other damages resulting from the
use of or the inability to use this program, even if I have been notified
of the possibility of such damages.
RESEARCH EDITING:
You can select research items to be put "into research" on any of your
bases. By selecting the research item, the lab (if any) on that base will
be researching that item, whether or not you've 'earned' the right to.
You are still responsible for increasing the number of scientists researching
that item from 0. Although it's possible to edit this, I didn't include
that ability as it messes up your lab/living space arrangements terribly.
Some items don't have to be researched directly like the advanced SW5's.
With each new sub type researched , the new SW5's will be manufacturable
without research. If you do research any new SW5's, they will be put into
the UFOPEDIA, but you will not be able to manufacture them.
HINT:
Research another alien commander after you get the HAMMERHEAD and you
will be able to research "The Latest Flying Sub". I NEVER was allowed to
research Alien Sub Construction (without cheating) and I'd played this game
from the begining twice. That's why I created this cheat :)
If someone has gotten a hold of an ACCURATE research tree for XCOM, and
has a heart, please send me a copy. I asked a tech support guy at
Microprose to fax me a copy of his, but he wouldn't :)
NOTE:
The 'craft' editing is incomplete. I struggled for a long time to
figure out where they get the ships numeric value (i.e. TRITON-1), but it
doesn't seem to exist. You can alter the type of ship, and the weapons it
has (give a Triton a pair of Sonic Oscilators), but there is no way for you
to tell which of your ships you are altering.
REVISIONS:
I apologize for any bugs you may have encountered, but if they are
reported, I will fix them as soon as possible. I won't apologize for
spelling errors (except the armour/armor thing) as I can't spell to save
my life, but will correct any pointed out to me.
1.01 - Added 1 remaining day to Transmission Resolver because it didn't
seem to work properly otherwise.
Now allows you to select NONE for a craft weapon.
Reloads the weapon you select properly.
Fixed problem with dead soldiers in soldier edit.
1.02 - Fixed negitive money values not shown properly.
Fixed base bug introduced in v1.01
Added craft damage and fuel editing.
Added research editing !!
1.03 - Added # of LABS in base title for research editing.
Fixed abscense of highlight bar in fuel field for craft editing.
You can now set fuel to 100% instead of just 99%.
Added soldier copy ability.
Corrected the spelling of ARMOR from ARMOUR (can't believe I did that!)
1.04 - Added F1 help key (altered status lines)
Fuel changes in TRITON and BARRACUDA where a little unresponsive.
Please, any comments or questions, write to me. As I have no inclination
to charge money for this thing, a pat on the back or two would be just as
nice.
Pass this thing around!
BTW:
I will post new versions on CompuServ (Gamer's Forum, LIB 3 War Games),
if you've found this anywhere else and are looking for a newer version I
suggest you try there.
