  17. <p>    Is that the ferryman on the river Styx? Not quite. Matt
  18. Groening (Gray-ning) is the creator of Life in Hell, the
  19. angst-driven comic strip that is breaking out of cult barriers
  20. and stealing into Middle America. Plans are afoot to spin off
  21. the cartoonist's animated, ornery Simpson family of The Tracey
  22. Ullman Show into a prime-time series. The strip -- with its
  23. traumatized rabbit Binky, the illegitimate one-eared Bongo,
  24. twins Akbar and Jeff and their nephews Gooey, Screwy and
  25. Ratatouille -- now haunts 105 publications. Notes Groening
  26. incredulously: "One paper wanted me to change the strip's name
  27. to Life in Heck." Heavens!
