  3. OVERVIEW
  4. SuperCat is a powerful, easy-to-use disk cataloging program,
  5. ideal for anyone using removable disk media (CD-ROM, Zip, Jaz,
  6. LS-120, etc.).

  8. The purpose of this program is to easily locate files on removable
  9. disks, without the need to have the disk physically accessible from
  10. your computer. To achieve this, you must first create an index, or
  11. catalog, of your disk(s). Both indexing and searching is very fast.

  13. New features in SuperCat 2.1 include:

  15. Disk "Reindex" and "Remove orphans" options
  16. Delete, Copy, Move and Rename files 
  17. Search history list
  18. Autocomments for image-, zip- and HTML files 
  19. Support for 4DOS file descriptions
  20. Search only a specific indexfile
  21. User-configurable indexfile folder
  22. Save results as HTML or semicolon-separated, database-ready textfiles
  23. Configure your own index and search filters
  24. Options tab for fast access to many new configuration setting
  25. Import and export indexfiles
  26. Drive icons in the Catalog library

  32. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  33. SuperCat has been tested to work on a wide variety
  34. of hardware and software configurations. If you can
  35. run Windows 95, 98 or NT 4.0, you can run SuperCat.

  37. SuperCat will index FAT, FAT32 and NTFS filesystems,
  38. in addition to network, removable and compact disks.
  39.  
  40. The report editor uses the standard Windows Courier New
  41. fixed-width truetype font. If you don't have this font
  42. installed on your system, we recommend that you install it.
  43. Refer your Windows documentation for further instructions
  44. on how to install fonts.

  47. INSTALLATION
  48. Run setup.exe and follow instructions.
  49. You can safely install SuperCat 2.1 in the same folder
  50. as any previous version.

  54. You should carefully read the following terms and conditions
  55. before using this software. Your use of this software indicates
  56. your acceptance of this license agreement.

  58. SuperCat is distributed as shareware.

  60. You may evaluate this software free for a period of 30 days.
  61. If you wish to use it beyond the 30 day trial period,
  62. you must register. A single user license is $25,00.
  63. A registration entitles you to future upgrades and
  64. free support.
