The Germans have begun a powerful new air offensive against the English mainland. Luftwaffe forces have begun to strike forward installations such as the Hawkinge and Manston airfields, and the port of Dover. Headquarters believes these attacks to be a preliminary to deeper, more powerful attacks and ultimately to a potential invasion. We must blunt the Luftwaffe attacks while keeping our own Fighter Command alive and ready to repel any invasion threat.
