- Mutiple floors in the same space.
- refer to the mtlistep.map. step 1 is in the upper left, step 2 upper right
- and so on. the lower right is another example.
-
- Step 1:
- -Define your rooms like in the first sector. Or something like it.
-
- Step 2:
- -Make each room a seperate sector, (by drawing the red lines you make
- it a sector, see map) ie: you can raise and lower the ceiling/floor
- with each sector. Rooms can take up the same space on the same level,
- there are some qwirks which i will explain below.
-
- Step 3:
- -Overlap the rooms as needed. It doesn't matter if walls are overlaped,
- it's just easier to maintain and see them if they are not.
-
- Qwirks:
- -Rooms cannot have the same entry point in 2d mode, they have to be
- offset. For instance rooms 1 and 2 entrance cannot be above and below each
- other
-
- -Things go funky when the room is viewed from the outside.
- (look at step 3 without the fixes to see what i mean)
- Fixes: (shown in step 4 on the map)
- -sprites cover the entrance so the view doesn't get messed.
- ( rooms 2 & 3 )
- -make a structure so it is not possible to view into the room.
- ( rooms 1 & 4 )
-
- That is all, I'm learning more every minute, I'm making a file to document
- what I have learned. NOW GO START MAKING AWESOME LEVELS!
