Documentation for FASTAT V1.1H/092993 by Andy Gruenenwald
---------------------------------------------------------
FASTAT = File Area STATistics
FASTAT is a utility program to generate a set of ANS/ASC bulletin files
containing file area statistics. FASTAT is intended to be used with
Powerboard BBS software 1.25 or 1.25A. It has not been tested with other
versions.
FORMAT:
FASTAT [/B:bulletin number] [/C:conference number]
FASTAT must be placed into your main BBS directory (C:\BBS or whatever).
FASTAT will access your AREAS\FAREA1.BBS file to get a list of file areas.
It will then go to each area and read the FILES.BBS file to get file
information for that area.
FASTAT will generate statistics on all file areas included in the selected
conference number. If you say "FASTAT /C:2", a report of file areas in
conference 3 will be generated. If you omit the "/C" operand, conference
one will be default.
FASTAT will create two files: BULL<bulletin number>.ANS and
BULL<bulletin number>.ASC. For example, if you type "FASTAT /B:4" then FASTAT
will create BULL4.ANS and BULL4.ASC. If you omit the bulletin number on the
command line, FASTAT will create BULL0.ANS and BULL0.ASC.
The bulletin files will list all file areas in conference 1 and show how
many files and bytes are in each area. At the bottom of the bulletin, totals
are displayd for files and bytes. Commas are inserted into the bytes coloum
for easier reading.
FASTAT will place the bulletin files it creates in the DISPLAY\ directory.
