Disclaimer:
This program is distributed without warranty.
In no case shall I be held responsible for any damages or losses
resulting from you running this software. By running this program
you have agreed to take responsibility for any problems that may
result. The only thing I profess this program to do is take up
space on a disk or hard drive.. nothing else.
What does it do?
RA-FDO is a simple program written to read in the last
caller information from Your BBS's LastCaller File, and import
the user's name or handle into the Mailer's "To :" or "From:"
field. When I started using FrontDoor, I really hated having to
log onto the BBS just to see who was the last caller to the system
was.
In addition to the User's name, it will add the time that
the caller logs off of the BBS after the User's name. It changes
the Address to that of your BBS, and also put's the users City in
the Mailer's field.
To start using RA-FDO just run RFSETUP to suit your
system's configuration and add it to the batch file you run the
mailer from. Run it right after the user logs off of the BBS..
nothing to it.
For RemoteAccess SysOps, you also have the option to
perform an Ultra-Fast mail scan to tell you if you have new mail,
(and how many) you have waiting for you on the BBS without having
to shell out and run any other program.
*****************************************************************
NOTE: If you are using FD 2.20 Multiline, you need to put the
Node Number that the BBS is exiting on the command line
after the caller exits.
* If you are running the multi-line version, but only have
it set up for one node - and it gives you an error - just
change the setting to FrontDoor 2.02 and it should work
fine. If not, let me know.
Example:
<For Node 1>
RA-FDO-4 1
<For Node 2>
RA-FDO-4 2
:
:
:
<For Node 15>
RA-FDO-4 15
and so on.... just add the node number as a command line
parameter to tell RA-FDO which node is exiting.
*****************************************************************
Notes:
If there is any questions about whether or not you have
set up your copy of this program correctly in the setup program,
please refer to the created file, RA-FDO-4.CFG. It is a plain
ASCII file and has examples of what each line should look like.
If this doesn't work, PLEASE feel free to NetMail me or ask me
in the RA-UTIL echo.
I've made this program very simple to use, and didn't
include some other information that I could have included in the
program. The reason being, that all I need to know is who called
last, nothing more. Originally I wrote the program for myself,
then thought that maybe somebody else might want to use it to, so
here it is. Consequently, this is MailWare - meaning that if you
decide to use this program, and you get enough time, drop me a
message letting me know how you like it.
