IN NO EVENT SHALL ANYONE INVOLVED WITH THE CREATION AND PRODUCTION OF THIS
PRODUCT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, ARISING
OUT OF ANY USE THEREOF OR BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY. ONCE REGISTERED, ANY
DISTRIBUTION OF THE REGISTERED KEY WILL INVALIDATE YOUR KEY IN ALL FUTURE
VERSIONS OF THIS PROGRAM AND NO PRODUCT SUPPORT WILL BE GIVEN.
DISTRIBUTION:
=============
You may make this file available for downloading from your BBS or you may
upload it to any BBS of your choice, provided that you do not make any
changes to the contents of the archive (ZIP file).
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
====================
TRISTAT is designed to analyze the CALLERS.LOG of your TriBBS Bulletin Board,
and generate both ANSI and ASCII bulletins which contain various statistics
concerning the operation of your TriBBS BBS. The statistics displayed in
the bulletins will be based upon the data in the CALLERS.LOG for the time
period covered in the CALLERS.LOG. For example, if the date of the first
entry in the CALLERS.LOG is 06/01/92, and the date of the last entry is
07/15/92, then the statistics displayed in the bulletins will be based upon
data contained in the CALLERS.LOG from 06/01/92 to 07/15/92.
Data displayed in the bulletins includes: Total Calls, # Local Logons,
# of calls per baud (300 thru 38400), # of Dropped Carriers,
# of Exceeded Time Limits, # of Incorrect Passwords, # of Keyboard Time Out,
Total Downloads, Total Uploads, # of Bulletins Read, # Messages Entered,
# Doors Opened, # Times SysOp Paged, # of New Users Added, and the number of
Total Calls by Time of Day the BBS has received.
NOTE:
=====
The TRISTAT.KEY file that is distributed with this program does NOT expire!
This is simply here so the door has a KEY to read. When you register,
you will receive a new TRISTAT.KEY file, which will remove the UNREGISTERED
notice from the bulletins, and diplay the name of your BBS, etc.
FEATURES:
=========
--- Easy to set up.
--- BETA tested on a TriBBS BBS.
--- Support BBS available.
--- Generates ANSI and ASCII bulletins.
--- One time registration fee good for any future version.
INSTALLATION:
=============
1. Place three files, (TRISTAT.CFG, TRISTAT.EXE, and TRISTAT.KEY), in your
main TriBBS directory. (Example: C:\TRIBBS)
2. Using a text editor, edit the TRISTAT.CFG file to include the required
information as shown in the examples below.
Example #1:
The File Cabinet BBS <-- The name of your BBS.
C:\TRIBBS\DISPLAY\BULLET17.BBS <-- Path to your ASCII bulletin.
C:\TRIBBS\DISPLAY\BULLET17.ANS <-- Path to your ANSI bulletin.
Example #2:
The File Cabinet BBS <-- The name of your BBS.
C:\TRIBBS\DISPLAY\LOGON2.BBS <-- Path to your ASCII bulletin.
C:\TRIBBS\DISPLAY\LOGON2.ANS <-- Path to your ANSI bulletin.
Note: The path to your ASCII and ANSI bulletins MUST include the
filename of both your ASCII and ANSI bulletins.
3. TRISTAT is executed with the following command:
TRISTAT C:\TRIBBS\MWORK\CALLERS.LOG
TRISTAT can be executed from the TriBBS BETWEEN.BAT file, which will
result in TRISTAT generating updated bulletins between each call.
Therefore, using a text editor, edit the BETWEEN.BAT file located in
your main TriBBS directory, and add the required information as
shown in the example below.
TRISTAT C:\TRIBBS\MWORK\CALLERS.LOG
Note: For additional information on the use of the BETWEEN.BAT file,
please refer to your TriBBS manual.
MAINTENANCE:
============
After the initial setup, no maintenance is required. KEEP IN MIND however,
the period of time covered in the CALLERS.LOG. You might consider deleting,
removing, etc. the CALLERS.LOG at the end of each month, so that the
data displayed in the bulletins, can be done on a month-to-month basis.
