[VSP] SUPPORT AREA
******************************
To provide enhanced program support for VBBS sysops, the
Virtual Ski Patrol [VSP] has been officially expanded and
reorganized.
The [VSP] designation now takes on more significance with the
advent of Virtual Software Professionals - experienced and
specialized VBBS sysops who are dedicated to helping you
understand and overcome even the most difficult challenges you
might face as a VBBS sysop.
The [VSP] team is now better able to answer a wider range of
questions you may have about Virtual BBS which are either not
covered to the depth desired in the regular documentation, or
which may be unique to your own installation. In either case,
the [VSP] team is here to help you when you need help the most.
As frustrating as it may seem at times, be aware that there are,
indeed, answers to * everything * about VBBS ! These may range
from simple to complex, but can usually be found in the new
extended VBBS documentation itself, or found by posting your
questions on the main VirtualNET support subs. Please be sure to
explore these avenues fully before resorting to the [VSP].
Also, make sure that your expectations are realistic before
contacting a [VSP] member. For example, while we can competently
answer questions about interfacing VBBS with certain programs,
we cannot be responsible for explaining another program's entire
setup to you. We will be happy to help you with the script
language and make suggestions, but please do not ask us to
develop a whole script for you. Since the [VSP] is a volunteer
effort, time is not a commodity. We expect you as a responsible
sysop to do your part and be willing to listen, learn, and follow
the advice given. Adhering to these simple guidelines will help
us all maximize the value of the [VSP] and avoid frustration.
The [VSP] is now organized by area of specialization, and sysops
are asked to direct their specific questions to the appropriate
party. The list below shows the people to contact and their
respective area(s) of expertise. We suggest you print out this
listing and save it for future reference.
All of us on the [VSP] sincerely hope this expanded service
helps set new benchmarks in quality support for VBBS, and
helps you to develop the full potential of Virtual BBS on your
system.
