[1.0] What Does It Do?
[ANS] IGME allows you to run 81 different IGMs at once, and runs maintenance
automatically, meaning you don't have to worry about it once it is
installed.
[1.5] How does it Work?
[ANS] You _must_ have Lord 3.25B or higher to run this... that is all.
[2.0] How do I set it up?
[ANS] Set up is pretty fast...
1) Unpack into a directory.
2) Run IGME
3) Setup (answer 3 questions)
4) <I>nstall
5) <R>un Maintenance if you want to
If you are upgrading from IGME v1.00, follow the following steps!
1) Overwrite everything (most important - IGME.EXE)
2) If you were experiencing some difficulties with the modules
appearing in the 3rdparty.dat, move all your IGMs into your
3rdparty.dat, and then do a full un-install. Then re-install.
[2.5] Features
[INF] Features of IGME...
* Allows you to run up to 81 IGMs
* Comes with an "IGM Manager", so you can move and delete at will.
* Automatically detects extra IGMs, and installs them automatically.
* Installs itself automatically (every time it needs a clone)
* Runs exactly like the upcoming PLANETS: T.E.O.S. IGM facility
* If an IGM can run through LORD, it will run through IGME!
[3.0] What can I do inside the door?
[INF] At present... Here are the F-Keys - only for use inside IGME, not the
IGMs it runs.
F1 = Display available "F" Keys and what they do.
F2 = Open a scrolling chat window with the door user.
F7 = Increments user time by 5 minutes.
F8 = Decrements user time by 5 minutes.
F10 = Ejects user from door and returns him/her to BBS after
showing a brief message.
[4.0] Troubleshooting...
[FAQ] A few FAQs...
Q: What do I do when adding new IGMs?
A: Let them run their own auto-install feature into LORD's
3rdparty.dat file, IGME in its maintenance movement will move
it if it needs to...
Q: My LORD Batch file is in another directory (from LORD)...
A: Edit the 2nd line in the config file (igme.cfg) to your settings
(i.e., batch file path and name), and _THEN_ install!
Q: I have a lot of IGMs, and some really-well-written ones like
Barak's House won't install, saying there's not enough space..
why?
A: Barak's House will test for spaces left in the 3rdparty.dat file.
One way to fix this if you are not running more than 72 IGMs is
to change the modifier in IGME to 8 (Run IGME, then C, then 8)
If you're running more than 72 IGMs... you got a problem, man.
Q: What if I put in my LORD path or LORD Batch File Name wrong?
A: LORD path will be verified... so, not a lot of worries there...
Your LORD Batch File (if you say "YES" in the wrong place), change
by text - editing IGME.CFG... the layout is such...
PATH TO LORD... INCLUDES THE TRAILING BACKSLASH
PATH TO LORD BATCH FILE, + NAME (c:\lord\start.bat)
...3rd Line can be changed internally!
Q: What if I decide to uninstall IGME?
A: Why would you want to do that? :(.
There are 3 levels of uninstallation... You can uninstall IGME
from the LORD batch file... this simply gets rid of IGME running
automatic maintenace (you could run this elsewhere, say your
night maintenance file).
The second level removes IGME from your 3rdparty.dat file, so
users cannot access it, but keeps intact the files 3rdparty.da*
so you can use IGME to move some files into your main 3rdparty.dat
file.
The third level mass-obliterates everything it created in the LORD
directory.
Q: What's with this IGM Manager?
A: Just run it and find out!
Q: I found a bug!
A: :(. Okay, report it to me, chances are I'll have an update out,
perhaps only for you, within a day of reading your message.
[5.0] Registering IGME...
[ANS] IGME was intended as freeware, a service to the community, etc, blah
blah. I didn't intend it to go beyond v1.00, but 2 bugs were found
in it, so I decided to upgrade it!
However, I feel that my work in LordWare is done now, I want to move
on... But, if you would like to see more freeware stuff, I would ask
that you send me a note - not necessarily accompanied by money (but
it's always nice :) - a hand-written note - to:
Joseph Masters
PO Box 1312
Fairview, NC 28730
Simply stating that you'd like to see more freeware stuff, and name a
couple products of mine that you use, and like.
{THANKS} GO TO!!!!
* Seth Able... ...For...
1) Inspiring me to program (well, sorta)
2) Actually getting up to test this program
3) Telling me (unwittingly, of course) of his new T.E.O.S.
IGM format
4) Scrambling so much to find bugs!
* Bob Dalton, and all those other hard-working freaks who actually
wrote a doordriver worth $250 and are making it freeware, source
included (geez, we need a president like this, don't we?)
* Bill Liebbe, who, (another freak) actually maintains an FTP and a
WWW site for my software... __FIRST SOFTWARE GROUP TO HAVE A
WWW SITE__
ftp.infonet.net/showcase/agency/BBS.Doors/lord
www.infonet.net/showcase/agency/lord.html
* All the bug reports rolling in!
