** NIBBLER **
Written by: Chris Constantinou
NIBBLER is a distant relative of the
Pac-Man (tm) series of games. You
control a little worm-like creature.
Guide your little worm through a maze
that is complete with the worm's
favorite food, namely, asterisks!
You are racing against the clock.
You also have to keep the little worm
from biting his own tail (it seems
that he is not really that particular
about what he eats)! Sounds easy?
The real problem is that when your
little worm gobbles down an asterisk
(some people feel that this worm food
is really ancient debris from some
unknown 'asteriskoid'), it sets up a
chain reaction inside your little pet.
Experts say that because the
asterisks taste SO! good, they tickle
the tastebuds of the little worm.
This tickling creates a series of
vibrations within the worm that cause
the worm to increase in length.
The point value of the asterisks
increases according to the level. The
highest level is 'I' which gives you
90 points per asterisk.
NIBBLER moves faster every time you
complete a level, even after the I-th
level. This makes the game a little
easier at first, but eventually
NIBBLER will move uncontrollably fast
and you will find yourself hard
pressed to control the little bugger.
NIBBLER will work with the joystick
in either port, but if it is in Port 1
when the game prompts you to press a
key, you can press the fire-button
instead. When the game is over and
the game tells you to insert a coin,
simply press the 'C' key to play
again.
{$ea}** NOTE ***
Because of the nature of this
program it does NOT return to
LOADSTAR. After playing NIBBLER, you
must turn your computer off before
trying to run anything else.
